Colony Cove

Have stayed at Colony Cove before and loved it. The amenities are great. However we stayed in a different condo this time and it did not even come close to cleanliness or comfort as our first stay. We would come back but not to this gondo

Great Place to Stay!

Overall, it was a GREAT experience. We definitely are coming back. We met some locals who worked at the site. Because of our good spirits, they brought us fresh coconuts, guava, and bananas (finger rolls). The experience was second to none! Great experience and a GREAT trip! Whenever something was wrong, they made sure it was taking care of with great response time. A1!!

Fabulous Winter Break

My husband and I and another couple traveled here this past February. It was our first time traveling to this island. We were so pleased with the surroundings of beautiful flowers in full bloom. We were even more satisfied with our accommodations.Everything - I mean everything was provided to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The people at the complex were all so helpful and friendly. There was good snorkeling in the bay which was fun to do justing walking down the beach and off we went. We also enjoyed the nearby restaurants and music. Another great plus was having a vehicle to get to know the island better. We can't wait to come back next year?

Broken kitchen window crank. Decaying base of closet bedroom frame; dirty and ugly appearing. No info on opening the parking gate. Could use some ice cube trays. OK for the price but needs some attention.

Very Clean and very well equipped!

The property was very nice. I LOVE the quilts! The people that maintain the property the condo is on are WONDERFUL!!! Very friendly and really nice. Whitney was very nice and a great person to deal with. Thank you for letting us use the car! It was such a great help! Although we got lost several times!! I would definitely recommend renting this condo! The free rum bar was nice (although we are not drinkers) but the biggest bonus was the use of the car. I cannot say enough about how nice the people are and the man Whitney uses to help with the guests was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks Whitney for being a part of the great vacation.

Good Location

Initially I thought the condo was the wrong choice, but it quickly grew on me. It's a small association compared with neighboring sites and this condo's first floor location was just what I wanted. There were two restaurants/bars adjacent to the complex and a super market near by. The whole area was much better than that around Fredricksted at the other end of the island. The condo had a very small beach but was next to others associations, which allowed access to their own half mile or more of beach. The pool water was cold as is the water is all the other resorts and associations we visited; no place heats their pool water. But the ocean water was extremely warm. We especially enjoyed the artificial reef just off the beach for snorkeling. For the money, this is a condo is a good deal.

Yes, I recommend this property.

The owner, Whitney, is quick to respond and very helpful in providing suggested restaurants & activities. She arranged our travel to & from the airport which saved me time & efforts. The condo has all the amenities we needed ie, , washer & dryer & dishwasher. The ocean view from the patio while eating was very relaxing. We felt safe having a coded gate community in & out of the facility and beach areas. The grills at the pool are a good way to meet the nice neighbors. We enjoyed the easy access from the condo onto the beach. It was good having ceiling fans in the rooms and A/C in the bedrooms. I may suggest adding a floor fan since there is no A/C in the living room. The Explorer was a nice way to get out to Point Udall to see the sunrise but I suggest having a tuneup and maintenance done because when we arrived it was in rough shape but I think it made us look like we lived there. Thank you for renting to others to use your place to relax.

From the time we stepped through the we were so very disappointedThere are so projects started and never finishedThe pictures are from 2006The furniture is terribly uncomfortable and needs to be replaced probably from the 90sThe screens on the sliding doors are full of holes and nasty dirtyThere is nothing in the kitchen that matches, and the cabinets are all jumbled upThe bathrooms old and stained tiles and doors have rusted hinges and need to be replacedThe kitchen cabinets are all old There is no beach to walk along. Not worth the price we paidWe had to take the silverware out of the drawer and wash all of it and the silverware trayI feel the place needs major updating and some real deep cleaningBe sure and take your own soap for bath and laundryYou will need to buy ice for your drinksBe sure and take coffee and any spices you useThere is one restaurant next door, but they are only open Wednesday through Sunday The property owners were quick to answer our emails and resolve the issue we hadRemember you will need a car, and they drive on the left sideChristiansted was fun lots of restaurants, shops on the boardwalkIf you chose to use a taxi they charge per person and they are expensive the five miles to Christiansted was 40 round trip for 2 peopleWe never used the A/C the ceiling fans were plenty nice breeze

More than we ever expected

When we rented this place we read the reviews and the place sounded pretty good but we were greatly surprised we got there. It was like a home away from home. There were toiletries in the bathroom in case you forget anything: soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, hair spray, mouthwash, hair dryers. It was like staying in a hotel. There were towels for us to use if we went to the pool or beach. There was some food in the fridge not sure if it was from the last guest. There were pots and pans that we used to cook with and utensils and cutlery. A great addition to our trip was that there was a car included, we didn't have to worry about looking for a rental and a place, it was a 2 for 1 : ) Whitney the person we rented from was awesome! She was very understanding when we asked to extend our stay....The view from the room is awesome and the balcony is great to sit and enjoy a meal, we had breakfast out there in the morning and enjoyed the scenery. It was very quite, we hardly hear anyone. The grounds are well kept and the pool is very clean. When we walked out to the beach there were some lounge chairs but the water was not clear that day so we didn't go into the water. We could not have asked for a better place to stay and will definitely be back again soon!!! Thanks for helping make our trip so much more stress free!!!

Nice place just needed a good deep cleaning.

The condo was good. I feel it needed a good deep cleaning and a fresh coat of pain to cover some minor cosmetic imperfections. Maybe a bit more lighting. Other than that it was a good location and served its purpose for a short stay. The condo was well stocked with all utensils and towels. Plenty of stuff available for heading out to the beach. Over all we had a good time and no major problems.

Very Nice Quarters

Although it was a little dated, we found our condo to be comfortable and excellent for our needs. There are a couple of items that need attention: 1. Towel rack in back bath fell off the wall within minutes after we arrived. It appeared to be balanced in place. 2. The bed in the back bed room was large and comfortable. The bad news was the bottom sheet did not fit the bed and every morning, we woke up on the mattress with a pile of untucked sheets. 3. Water pressure is very low especially in showers and in kitchen sink. Otherwise, we loved it!

Best family vacation

We love St.Croix and this condo is in a perfect location, clean and had everything we needed. Location in complex was great too, we could pull our car literally right in front of our door which made lugging our beach gear for excursions so much easier especially with kids. So much beach gear, coolers, towels, kids toys. We had everything we needed. Everything was clean and comfortable. We will be back!

Wonderful Stay

Everything was perfect! Close to beach and downtown Christiansted. Owners were very kind, extremely helpful and answered all our questions. Pool side grill was nice as we used it twice. This condo has a fully stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and was very clean, which is huge when staying for a few days. The property was clean and maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. Maps and other literature were available at condo to help us navigate the island. Games, movies and books were available to entertain if you stayed inside or turned in early. Will definitely stay here again!

Vi var i chok, da vi så, hvor beskidt og ulækker boligen var. Ankom ca. 22.15 og gjorde rent til ca. 02.30. Havde booket den bolig fordi der står at der kan være 6 personer. DETTE PASSER IKKE. Der er to senge, så vi måtte finde på alternative løsninger til vores to teenage piger. Alt i alt en virkelig dårlig oplevelse og sidder tilbage med en følelse af at være blevet snydt ☹️☹️☹️😡

Love the island ,perfect location and clean and updated condo . Perfect!!

We have stayed at this condo several times. Whitney is so accommodating . We fell like home. The condo is very clean! The kitchen has everything you need to make meals from lots of insulated drinking cups to good knifes,pots and pans to even a crock pot. . Use of the gas grill down at pool side is awesome. We use it all the time! They even have beach towels for our convenience . Love having the rum bar! We can taste rather than buying a whole bottle Incase we don’t like that flavor. For whatever reason we seem to have the pool to ourselves most of the time. Thanks Whitney, can’t wait to come back 🌴

Upon booking, the host sent an email and a rental agreement that said that the unit included a rental car. It also said that she would (for a fee) arrange to have someone pick us up in said car. I sent her a message to ask her to arrange this. I got no reply. I sent a second message. I got no reply. I sent her a text message- she said a man named Ed would pick us up. We arrived at the airport and sent Ed a text. Then another. We waited. We called and Ed told us he was not coming. At this point, we'd been at the airport for an hour. We got a (very expensive) cab ride to the condo. When we got there, there was a "black Ford" as described sitting in the parking lot. There were no keys. We contacted the property owner and she said "What car?" We sent a screen shot of the agreement SHE sent us. Then she said the car was gone. Then, we realized the AC did not work and that the Wifi password she'd given us was not correct. This is within minutes of arriving. We texted her and told her this. She said she would have it fixed. That night, my kids slept horribly and got heat rash in the room with no AC. The next day, someone came and looked at the unit and said it was broken and needed to be replaced. I assumed that meant he would do so. I was wrong. It took five days. Five out of our seven nights were spent without AC. She never did tell us the wifi password. To say I am disappointed in our experience is an understatement. We could not spend time in the condo without being miserable. We were all so tired from trying to share a room/ or sleep in the room without AC. We spent a lot of money on travel and a this condo only to have my kids too miserable to enjoy the experience. Also- the beach is nasty. If you are choosing this condo based on its proximity to the beach, choose another. St Croix is filled with beautiful beaches. This is not one of them. It's filled with so much seaweed that you can't even wade in water. The only reason that I gave it 2 stars instead if none is because the host issued a partial refund. Less than a third of what we paid when 5/7 of our trip was ruined by lack of AC. I recommend that anyone visit Saint Croix. It's beautiful. Just stay somewhere else. .

Disappointing stay

We reserved this place based on the pictures and some of the positive reviews but we were disappointed even before we got out of the car. When we got within 500 feet of the area there was a very strong smell of sulfur or what my kids referred to as rotten eggs, the smell got worse when we got out of the car. The condo was as sown in the pictures but we found it to be a bit dirty, there were little tiny insects everywhere especially in the main bathroom all over the sink, tub and even on the toilet paper. We arrived at night and in the morning my daughter woke up and her legs had little bite marks, we figured it was because of the insects and my wife went to check the beds and found that there were lots of the little insects in the bed, she decided to change the bed sheets and noticed they had a yellow stain on them, she washed them but the stain didn’t come out so she replaced them with another set she found in the closet. We spent 4 nights in the condo and while the beds were comfortable we didn’t feel they were very clean so we slept over the sheets, washed towels and put them over the pillows. One of the bath towels was full of holes and there were 2 partially used rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom which isn’t enough for a family of 5 for 4 nights. The AC until in the master bedroom is or at some point leaked water condensation into the wall and the paint is lifted/peeling. You could also smell the odor coming from outside through the patio doors, there were a few aroma candles in the unit which we had to use and we also bought an air freshener. We tried going to the pool which is nice but after about 15 minutes I felt nauseous from the smell and we went back inside, the beach looks nice in the pictures but it’s dirty and I don’t think anyone goes swimming there. The area where the condo is located is not very nice or touristy. I’m assuming the smell in the area is caused by rotten seaweed and probably doesn’t smell that bad year round. Overall the place would be okay if it was cleaner and the area didn’t smell as bad. We rented places in St Thomas and St John through HomeAway and this was the worst place we stayed at which was unfortunate because we were looking the most forward to St Croix and spent 4 nights here and only 3 at the other locations. I’m a travel agent and wouldn’t recommend this place to clients, family or friends.

Fantastic

The condo is exactly what one would expect and is as described. A beach front getaway that is perfectly located. The owner, Whitney was great, from answering questions leading up to the rental period, to her step by step instructions and recommendations to make your visit easier before and after arrival she made things for first time visitors like us so much easier. Good overall value

The updated kitchen is very nice. A few areas could use updating though. It was nice to be near the beach, though this area of beach isn't the best. Overall though, it's a very good value. The owner provides lots - coolers, games, movies, etc.
