Nolin Cabin Experience w/ Hot Tub

Welcome to the Ponderosa! This unique lake getaway includes a quaint Amish built cabin , Kitchen house, and 2 bed bunk house. All connect to a HUGE wrap around deck built to entertain and relax on. Small, simple, and set up for a relaxing get away with the family! This property has a wide walking trail down to the redline. Private gated entry and ample parking for many cars/trailers. Boat rentals and rental docks are available at nearby Ponderosa Marina and Wax Marina. NEW HOT TUB! 1 Amish built cabin with master upstairs bedroom with Queen memory foam bed. Also has a super comfortable memory foam pull out Full sofa on the main level. The only bathroom is in this building. 1 Bunk house with 1 Full bed and a large 2 Full bunk bed. Fully stocked with all bed linens and bath towels 1 Kitchen house / Dining area. Fully equipped kitchen with all cook and plateware. There are a number of stairs to enter and exit all buildings. Mobility challenged folks may find this as a difficult situation The cabins are in an extremely private setting and situated off a small road. There is a charcoal grill for cooking outdoors (bring charcoal). The awesome fire pit area will keep you warm and cozy on the cool evenings and is perfect for s’mores. Bring your own firewood. Spanking new 6 person HOT TUB just installed Limited wifi and TV streaming. Each building has a HDTV and DVD player. Cell reception is good here and the TV's can mirror your phone for streaming or bring along your favorite DVD's for some fun family movie time This cabin allows dogs if you choose to bring your companion along. 2 pet maximum. Access to the entire property. Short walk to the water. Take precautions for ticks outside of the immediate cabin/yard area. There is also a neighborhood dock/picnic area that is 8min walk from the cabin. The check in process will be simple and easy. You will be given a code for entry and you will use that code for your stay. Unless we are needed we will not be around. Located on a very secluded peice of land in a fun and active lake neighborhood. Within a 6 min car ride to Ponderosa Marina. About 30min drive to Mammoth Cave National Park Plenty of parking available at the property. Although you can walk to the water fairly easily, you will need a golf cart or car to get through the neighborhood and marina. Ponderosa Marina 6 min away. Wax Marina 15 min Just a short walk to the neighborhood docks. One of the few Nolin lake docks on flat land with no stairs and direct car parking. A great place to fish or picnic. This property also allows dogs. There is a maximum of 2 pets allowed.

We had a wonderful experience at the cabin and on the property. We enjoyed the screened in porch, especially during the rain. The teens enjoyed having their own space. The kitchen was well stocked. The fire pit and firewood were awesome for our evening bonfire and s’mores.

Hidden Treasure

Great little property. We weren’t sure about the separate buildings at first, but it gave us lots of room to stretch out and a variety of activities. When we arrived, there were issues from the previous guests that hadn’t been caught, but it didn’t take long to get it fixed, and management was super helpful and responsive to messages. Overall, we had a great experience at this property.

Spring Break 2025

We stayed in this cabin to visit Mammoth Cave. It is 45minutes or so from Mammoth, so plan accordingly. We arrived on a very rainy night so that made it a little challenging since the different “houses” are not connected. We had to go outside in the rain to use the bathroom. All the other days had great weather and we enjoyed it a lot. The deck and hot tub were great after long days spent at Mammoth.

Family Weekend

The property is really nice. The layout is different, separate kitchen building but it works nicely. Kitchen was very well equipped, outside grill was great. Loved the fire pit, coffee by the fire in the morning, drinks by the fire in the evening. Hot tub is a nice amenity. We had a really nice weekend with family.

Anniversary Getaway

My wife and I and our two dogs enjoyed our visit and stay. We were actually surprised, the property looked exactly like the pictures. We enjoyed the property so much that we didn’t really leave to go anywhere else, we didn’t need to , we had everything there that we needed for a peaceful getaway! We highly recommend the Nolin Cabin to our family and friends for a peaceful family getaway. With so much to do in the area it was hard to leave the comfort of the property, the dogs truly enjoyed the walk to the lake and being able to explore the property and play. We even thought bringing the family back for a Thanksgiving get together at some point. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful place! Thomas & Tonya Levay

Great Hangout

Very neat location. We loved the central deck where the three cabins converge. The kids loved having their own cabin, and the kitchen cabin was a fun experience. The main cabin is cozy and fun to be in. Overall a great location and would visit again!

Great cabin in a cozy spot.

We liked the location for hiking/swimming. It’s really close to Nolin River lake Park and Mammoth Caves. The cabin is surrounded by trees and is very quiet either sitting by the fire pit or relaxing in the house.

First, this is a wonderful place for both you and your dog. Lots of area for them to run free and not bother any neighbors. Both mine enjoyed the water and the deck! I loved the peacefulness of the surrounding area but also met some of the neighbors who were very nice and helpful. You won’t be disappointed staying here.

Quiet and private

This was a nice place to stay, very clean, cozy, and most important private. The description was a little misleading. We thought there were 2 bunk houses with beds, but one is actually the kitchen. It still worked for our group of 6, it can sleep 8, with sharing the one bunk house. No big issues, the roof on the bunk house had a leak, but no damage. Over all our stay was super comfortable. The cabin is a good 40 minutes to an hour from any tourist locations, just plan on a drive if that's what anyone is there for.

Charming cabin in the woods!

We throughly enjoyed our time at this cabin! The owners were super easy to work with, the cabins were well stocked and immaculately clean. The new additions of the hot tub, sink/water in the kitchen, and a new mattress were much appreciated :) I would highly recommend staying here for a quiet and quaint get-away!

Porch Life!

Had a great stay near Nolin Lake. The cabins were clean and comfortable. The porch is a highlight of the property and the best space for a group to gather. So happy we were blessed with magnificent weather to enjoy it. Relaxed with a fire and in the new hot tub. Communication with the host was great. Would recommend!

Nice and Quiet

This property is very well maintained. Everything was very clean and well supplied. It is very nicely secluded and quiet. Nice little walk to the lake. You cannot get into the water because it is a long drop to it and no way back up to the bank, but beautiful view. Only thing we did not care for was they are only full size beds. This was my fault for not noticing that on the profile. It is approximately 40 minutes to Mammoth Cave National Park. We had a great time.
