We did not have 5-star expectations, as we have stayed at several of La Quinta properties in the past. This particular location did not live up to its 6.8 out of 10 rating from Expedia reviews. Check-in was smooth, & although we noticed poor craftsmanship and dirty walls on the 1st night, we chose to overlook these issues. On the morning of our 2nd day, we reported a non-functioning toilet to the front desk before 9:00 a.m. When we returned at 4:00 p.m., it had still not been repaired, and our room had not received any housekeeping service. We were given a new room key to “use for the night” & told the toilet would be repaired the following day, as maintenance had already left. However, we were not instructed to move rooms. The next morning, we found ourselves locked out of our original room. When we spoke to the front desk, we were informed that we would be charged for an additional room since we had “occupied” two rooms overnight. The lack of customer service and the confrontational attitude of the front desk clerk were extremely disappointing. Due to the holiday weekend and the limited availability of nearby accommodations, we had no choice but to remain at the hotel. We were eventually moved to another room, which, unfortunately, was just as dirty as the first. Housekeeping services were never provided during our stay. The continental breakfast was subpar. After discovering black flecks in the apple juice dispenser, we had serious concerns about cleanliness & sanitation.
