An authentic, 200-year-old Andalucian Casita right in the heart of Comares, one of the most striking and beautiful Pueblo Blancos of the Axarquia. Perched at the top of a mountain (but reached via a modern road!) this house has 2 double bedrooms with one king size bed and one double, and a single bed in a mezzanine space suitable for a child or a robust adult. Full of character, this has been a family holiday home for over 30 years, and has been modernised but keeps many original features.
Comares is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. A Pueblo Blanco, it is nestled right at the top of a mountain, with the most amazingly scenic drive to get to it. Although it is very much rural, traditional Spain, with a wonderful village culture and regular festivals throughout the year, it is also very close to local tourist spots - about an hour's drive from Malaga Airport and 40 mins from the beach. There is a very strong Arabic influence in Comares - it was one of the last Moorish strongholds - so the local history is fascinating. In recent years it has also become a real destination for active holidays - walking, climbing, and cycling. There is also a very impressive zipwire! Comares is an exceptionally well-maintained, thriving town. It has a very strong community spirit. Everywhere in Comares is very easily walkable from the house. There is an excellent local supermarket, and also a bakery within 2 mins walk Everywhere is walkable from the house (although you do need a reasonable level of mobility to deal with Comares - the streets are quite steep). There is a small car park near to the house, and on-street parking is also available.
