"This resort is about 15 minute drive from the historic district of Matera. I had stayed in the center of town in the other cities we visited in Puglia. I liked the quietness of this location. The room was elegantly furnished with high arching ceiling. The staff was excellent and the breakfast was great. "

"Staying in a cave room but having an entryway in the room with windows out on the gorgeous Matera scenery is perfect. We also had a porch with chairs to sit outside. The breakfast was amazing! Fresh and delicious food served to us by the most welcoming people you could ask for, Angela and Agnese. We also had a wonderful piano player, Gianni, at breakfast every day - now that's a first for us!. If we went back to Matera, which we hope to do some day, we would stay here again. The only negative is WiFi is not reliable in our room. Unfortunately across all of southern Italy our 5g T-mobile plan didn't work either so we used physical maps. We stayed a week and so were able to see a lot of this magnificent area. Most people only stay two or three nights and I feel that is not enough. "
