Rude staff, dirty, it smelled horrific and I got a weird yellow substance on my leg by just sitting on the bed. The place was disgusting. We couldn't even stay one night, it was to gross.

It was close to the major road and cars driving noisy and no privacy open to a coffee chop you open your room and you see strangers in the drive through. On the block facing your room. . And there were flies all through the night don’t know where they were coming from.

Easily best value in town. Not a nice motel but not scary or disgusting. For how grossly overpriced every spot in town is, if you’re like me and don’t like getting ripped off, this place is a pretty good option.

Nice place

The hotel was clean and reception was helpful as I had booked non smoking but hotel.com tried to put us in a smoking room. The reception managed to move us even tho the Expedia group restricts them doing this.

We were not able to be there for our planned stay, due to a family crisis. We gifted friends with our game passes and they reimbursed me for the room. They said they were very happy with the room and mentioned that it was very clean and tidy. They enjoyed their stay! 😄👍

If you’re looking at this hotel, you’re trying to do the calculus of whether the low price is worth what you expect will be a substandard hotel. I say that to clarify I had very reasonable expectations for what this hotel would be. But it’s way worse than you’re thinking, so I would advise you to find somewhere else.

Clearly prostitution and drug dealing and violent activity. Disgusting room with our first room having dirty bedsheets with trash in them, the next room they gave to us after we complained, had a dirty rag with a substance on it, and a big dark pee stain all along the head and down of the mattress. Gross floors, sinks look like theyve been cut up. Truly gross looking old men all around the area. Not a safe feeling environment at all. Staff could be a lot more friendly.

This place was disgusting. They were “cleaning” my room when I got there (and I got there late). When I checked the bed, there were hair and stains on the sheets. When I asked them to clean my room the second day of my stay they didn’t give me clean sheets, they just put the same dirty sheets back on my bed. Also when I returned that night, my door was left open.

The staff/housekeeping charging me for checking out an hour late when I was out of the room by 11:20am. Was accused of unplugging the phone when staff tried to do a “wake up call” but the phone was unplugged, I noticed as I went to plug my phone charger in the wall next to the bed. I stayed in the same room 2 nights in a row, but with different check in times, dates, and staff, I had a small pink stain from a marker on the bed sheets the first night, when I was checking in the next night, I was given the same room # as the night before, and saw the pink paint marker stain- which would mean that housekeeping didn’t bother changing the bedding. Very unsanitary.

Good staff, dirty room

I’m conflicted about leaving a bad review, because the front desk staff was really friendly, professional and helpful when I needed to make a change to my reservation, but here goes: My son plays college sports, I go to all the games and I’ve always stayed at inexpensive motels to keep costs down, Whatever is the cheapest motel in a Big Ten town (and many other college towns), I’ve stayed there; my standards are not high, I don’t mind things being old or worn down as long as they are clean. This is the first time that the room was so bad that I considered leaving. The carpet was filthy and the linens and towels were stained (but clean). There was organic matter and dried blood on the bathroom floor, spots of crud which I couldn’t identify on the bathroom wall, and the shower floor was so dirty that I didn’t use it. If they cleaned the carpet, ditched the stained sheets & towels and gave the bathroom a (really) good scrubbing, this place would be a good value.

The room was absolutely horrible. Was given a handicapped room and didn't need it and didn't request it. The handheld shower sprayer was duck tapped to the bar it's supposed to hang from. The water pressure for the shower was absolutely pathetic. I've seen more water pressure from a drinking fountain. The remote to the TV didn't work. Asked about it at the front desk and was given a paper on how to program it to the TV. I'm sorry but that's not the responsibility of the guest. The remote was not able to b programmed to the TV. Complained about it again the next day to the front desk and was told she would have maintenance come and fix. Was told they would come by my room in 30 minutes and the maintenance person never showed up.

Roaches

We were very upset. This was our anniversary trip and we went for a Hawkeye game. We still paid quite a bit for a 2 night stay. The service was amazing I will give them that. Also great location. But this hotel is awful. I know it is a motel, so I wasn’t expecting fancy or nice. But it was extremely dirty, uncomfortable, you could hear EVERYTHING. We saw several roaches and killed one for proof. The bed was rock hard and squeaked at the tiniest movement. It was extremely dirty. We couldn’t stay in that motel our last night, so we packed up and had to drive all the way home our second night and missed out on a fun night out in Iowa city because we didn’t sleep our first night there, and because it was roach and whatever else infested. Under the bed is also extremely dirty and dusty. So how could we stay in that? It ruined our anniversary. We will not be back. Requesting a refund. Bummed out. :/ I’ve stayed in cheap run down motels before, nothing compares to this. They should be shut down.
