"What a gem of a place. This is an "old school" family resort and we loved it. We only stayed a day as we were just traveling through, but we are planning on coming back again soon. This is not a big, glitzy venue but instead a family-friendly, homey place to stay. Our bathroom was big and well appointed, two king beds with a view of the lake. What more could you ask for? The continental breakfast is just that - very simple. But they had fruit, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs and mini bagels."

"The Bear Den Cottage was exceptional! Our family did a mini vacation to visit the Big Boy 4014 Steam Train for the 250th Anniversary of America. We were looking for a quiet, cozy place to stay during our visit to Scranton Pa and found the Bear Den Cottage.Steve the owner was exceptional to work with, his communication back and forth with us was top notch! The cottage had everything we needed but most importantly was clean, cozy and felt like home away from home.We were sad that we could not have stayed longer but were very blessed to have the time that we did there. Thank you for everything and for making our trip extra special with such a beautiful place to stay.We highly recommend staying at the Bear Den Cottage if you are ever in the area, you will not regret it!The Wilson Family"

"Perfect location and a great stay! The home was well stocked, very clean, and clearly well maintained. We loved all the indoor and outdoor games — the kids were entertained the entire trip, even during the rain. Everything we needed was there, and it made for a relaxing and fun getaway. We would definitely stay again!"

"The check in process was quite smooth, the lady at the front desk was quite informative. The room was nice, could of been a little more clean. Our overall stay was quite relaxing, would definitely stay here again. The kitchen is fully supplied with cookware just no lids for frying pans and only one baking sheet."

"The home was beautifully styled and very spacious. We had several planned activities for my daughter’s 18th birthday, so we spent much of our time out enjoying the weekend. We especially enjoyed using the fire pit to make s’mores. We had planned to use the hot tub on Saturday, but it began to snow.Overall, the home was nice; however, there were a few concerns that should be addressed. The floor panels in the dining room area were coming up and should be looked at. Additionally, a family member nearly got hurt when attempting to sit in a chair in the upstairs bedroom with the loft bed, as one of the chair legs was broken. We also noticed a broken window and burns on the living room carpet.Lastly, I want to thank the homeowners for coming by promptly to shovel everything in time for us to check out after the overnight snowstorm. Overall, I would give a 4 out of 5 stars! "
