"This is a beautiful old hotel property. It has great bones and the rooms have been updated and modernized nicely. That said, there are some very quirky aspects to the property. Firstly, there is no reception - just an automated machine that provides a key card. This means that there is no one to ask about parking, amenities etc. The second thing is that no one speaks English at all. The cleaning staff was very sweet but could not speak a word. We had to use Google Translate for all...

"I had a big problem getting the key to the room. There was no note or message to explain how to get the key. I tried to call several times but there was no answer. It was a most challenging experience."

"Das Apartment war sehr schön eingerichtet, sehr sauber. Relativ klein, aber für für zwei Personen und zwei Nächte war es wirklich top. Die Regendusche war richtig schön. Gekocht haben wir nicht, wäre aber möglich gewesen. Spülmaschine war auch vorhanden. Der Kontakt mit Herrn Meinel war unkompliziert und sehr freundlich. Genug Parkplätze direkt auf Grundstück. Wenn wir nochmal in der Nähe sind, kommen wir sehr gerne wieder!"

"Lovely and in lovely countryside. Breakfast was ok, but not the best German hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. Dinner was lovely sitting outside. "

"The spa, gym, and lake views are excellent. The hotel has a very 90's feel and no room service (this was a bummer as we had a lake view room and wanted to stay in and relax). The beirgarten by the water has excellent food, although it closes at 930pm (as does the only restaurant on site (a buffet). The place was comfortable for 1 dayx the lake location and sauna were exactly what we wanted"
