Guadeloupe Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at the Villa Karumaya. The grounds were absolutely splendid! There were tons of beautiful flowers and the house was very open with a beautiful ocean view. It was a wonderful time! After a long day of exploring Basse-Terre, the pool felt amazing. This side of the island can get pretty humid, but at night you can close the shutters and make the house nice and cool! The owners were also very accessible and helpful. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Exceeded our expectations

This is a lovely home and it was perfect for a family of 10. We enjoyed the outdoor space (verandah), pool and the children enjoyed exploring the property. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking at home. Bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. It is a close walk to the beach but someone with accessibility problems should be aware that it is a big hill to walk up from the beach. We had no problems with the walk. We had everything we needed within a short walk - two bakeries, a few restaurants and a market that has basic items. I would definitely recommend this home to friends and family.

Beautiful House

This was a fabulous vacation in a wonderful house. So close to beach, bakery, and a short drive to Deshaies. Views from house and sound of waves crashing in the distance was beautiful and relaxing. The house has everything you need to make your vacation complete. Can’t wait to come back next year!

Five star house and location

We stayed at this Deshaies house the first week of November. This was our first vacation since Covid started. The booking process was simple and the owner very communicative. We had worries about flights and he was very flexible and accommodating. We really appreciated his thoughfulness. Guadeloupe is a wonderful combination of quiet and enough amenities to feel like a vacation. Its beaches are perfect. Ten minutes west of the house is the best beach on the island. Picture perfect with excellent restaurants and golden sand. We toured mostly the western side including a day sailing trip out of Basse-Terre. The house was perfect. It was equipped with everything. The indoor/outdoor living space was fantastic. Large porch around the house that gives shade when wanted and the pool out front. The neighborhood is quaint and there was live music across the road a couple of nights. The beach at the bottom of the road is a 5 min walk - though a steep walk back up. The restaurant on the beach side at the bottom of the road has rotisserie chicken that looked fantastic but they do it just on weekends. Lots of nice restaurants in Deshaies. I highly recommend this location and the owners. Check in was a breeze as was check out. Thank you for sharing your vacation spot with us.

Karumaya is a Fantastic Home

This property was perfect for our two families. Yannick, the property owner/manager is exceptionally welcoming, responsive, and helpful with questions and recommendations. Adeline, the concierge (arrival/departure greeter housekeeper) was also warm, welcoming, and helpful, ensuring the home was perfectly ready for us. She also coordinated and brought a chef-prepared dinner to the house for us. Every detail is thought through with this house. The home, furniture, amenities, appliances are in excellent condition. Highly equipped kitchen for in home meal preparation if you choose. Great use of technology with Wi-Fi access throughout all three floors, Sonos speaker connectivity, extra adapters and cords, and television. Airconditioning in all bedrooms was very nice on the hot nights. The lower level attached “apartment” with two bedrooms, living room and additional mini kitchen was a great space for our four 18-21 year old kids to enjoy their own space while the four adults enjoyed the main and second floors. The extensive landscaping, the beautiful pool area, and the first-floor open living design extending every room onto the large veranda surrounding two sides of the home make the property feel like your own private resort that is hard to leave. Groupings of furniture throughout the living space, verandas and pool deck allow for people to spread out into their own spaces, or for the whole group to fit together for socializing. Enjoy! We’ll be jealous we’re not there!

Une villa magnifique

Villa magnifique et très spacieuse, très bien équipée, un jardin superbe et bien entretenu, une piscine très agréable qui a fait le bonheur des enfants, une plage de rêve à 2 minutes à pieds, un propriétaire extrêmement sympathique et une conciergerie d'une gentillesse et d'une disponibilité rares. Bravo pour votre propriété, conforme au descriptif (un peu chère ma foi !)seules les pluies tropicales quotidiennes hormis les Saintes et la piscine à 27 degrés ont gâché un peu la fête par contre les petits enfants se sont éclatés.Les restaurants en bas de la rue: La terrasse Leroux top mais déçus par celui d'en face.Adeline de la conciergerie très disponibleMerci tout de même car le dépaysement était total Qui sait, à bientôt peut être. Amazing

First of all Yannick is a wonderful communicator. I have had some questions and he has always responded very promptly. Our trip had to be adjusted due to changes by AirFrance and Yannick was very accommodating. Luckly for us we were able to stay 1 more day. Virgine was super. She was so attentive and patient with us. Even though my French was super rusty, we were able to communicate and have a fantastic time. The house is beautiful and in a perfect location, just down the road, 2 min walk to a beautiful beach. Hopefully we will be able to come back soon.
