Hotel Croda Rossa served its purpose perfectly for us. We mainly wanted a convenient place to stay before an early start for the Tre Cime and Cadini di Misurina hikes, and the location worked very well. It’s around a 10-minute drive from Lake Misurina and approximately 25 minutes from Rifugio Auronzo, where the hikes start. One thing we really appreciated was that the hotel prepared a packed breakfast for us the night before since we were leaving very early in the morning. This was extremely convenient and thoughtful. Overall, it’s a good and comfortable hotel tucked away in a small forest, giving it a peaceful atmosphere. The surroundings also looked lovely for a walk if we had more time. A very practical choice if Tre Cime and Cadini di Misurina are the main purpose of your stay.

We had a delightful stay at Hotel Croda Rossa. This is a lovely old hotel set back in the forest (it can bit a bit tricky to find if you arrive by bus, as we did; you have to go through the big hotel that sits right on the road, cross over the footbridge, and walk through the meadow to get there). Staff were welcoming and helpful. In addition to clean and comfortable rooms with incredible mountain views they had a nice bar/game room, and it was so fun to sit there with friends and family all having a great time laughing and playing various card or board games together. They also had a nice "quiet" room for those who wanted to just sit quietly and read or work. Dinners were buffet style and only one price, but the food was very good and they offered a good variety. To be honest you really have very little choice in Carbonin; this is not a town, just two hotels and associated eateries (and from what we could discern, the food at Hotel Croda Rossa was by far the best). Hotel Croda Rossa was the perfect jumping off point for hiking the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, as it is right on the last stop for the shuttle bus to the trailhead (it's the Bivio di Misurina stop). It also appeared to be popular with bikers using the nearby trail between Cortina and Dobbiaco.

Nice Place to take a break.

We were just staying overnight and then returning 3 days later. The staff graciously kept our luggage stored during that break. The breakfast that was included with our room was good and filling.

Good location and lots of space

Great amount of space for a family of two adults and two teenagers. It was a good central location to get to many nice places in the Dolomites. Only complaint was the terrible WiFi service.
