This was the perfect house for me, my husband and our two dogs. Such a beautiful location, and perfectly appointed house with everything we needed. The front porch was a dream overlooking the water. The hosts made everything so easy. We would come back over and over again.

Lovely home

The home was perfect for us. Sadly couldn’t walk anywhere as it was located just off the highway and too narrow to safely walk on the side of it. But overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

New Years Eve stay

We loved everything about this place. The hosts were so generous and kind. The atmosphere they set was amazing to walk into after a long trek here. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. I would highly recommend this stay.

Great winter getaway

Very well-equipped and cozy spot to spend a few rainy days in December. We were able to do lots of cooking and read by the fire.The separate bedrooms and baths allowed for sleeping in which was niceWill definitely go back when weather improves.

Sunrise by the Sea

We loved our 4 nite stay at the lookout, it was perfect. We wanted for nothing. Jill and Kevin thought of everything, even leaving us a lovely bottle of wine! We are returning to Maine with very grateful hearts and rested souls! Thank you both.

Pleasant, relaxing stay in a beautiful house

While planning our trip, we narrowed our choice to two locations in the area both listed “with an ocean view”. We chose The Lookout Cottage because the house was so lovely and it indeed is. However, it is a bay view which is nice, it is just we expected an ocean view as listed in the “Private, ocean view home” There is a sliver of an ocean view but obscured by another house. In all of the photos online, a neighboring house is not shown. Although a lot or so away, the backside including trash cans, of the neighboring house is the view from the master bedroom sliding glass doors. Havening said that, the overall view from the kitchen and living area is scenic. The view away from the water onto a field is also nice since the deer like to graze there. It’s just our home overlooks a river and we paid a bit more than usual to have what we thought would be special--an ocean view. It is definitely a five-star property, all you needed was on-site and our hosts communicative.

Lookout - for the sunsets (and the deer)

The house was immaculate, comfortable and welcoming. We had excellent beds and appreciated the high end appliances. There was even an array of basic provisions - an unexpected bonus! Above all we loved the views. Sunset from the lookout is sublime.

Wonderful Hideaway with Ocean View

Perfect place to have a breakfast looking at the ocean and a BBQ for dinner. Good location for daily trips with some gorgeous beaches in the area. Proximity to Ospreys Nest restaurant very convenient.

Scenic and Serene

The Overlook was the perfect spot to explore and enjoy the beauty of the southern shore and lighthouse trail. The house itself was incredibly comfortable and well appointed, with a beautiful view of the shore. Our host was welcoming and quick to respond to any questions we had. All in all, a great place to relax and enjoy nature.

Kevin was very attentive to our honeymoon leaving us a nice gift to start our evening together. Great place with views. The house was perfect with all amenities. We would definitely go back.

Amazing!

The Lookout is an amazing place! Modern, clean, dog friendly and great communication. Everything you need down to dog dishes with a dog mat! Very welcoming atmosphere, We were greeted by 5 deer and once again at the end of our stay. The Lahave bakery and Osprey’s Nest restaurant are a must. Jill does an amazing job….many thanks!

Great place to stay !

Our stay at the Lookout in Dublin Shore was great! The accommodations were beautiful and the owners have thought of everything including scotch tape and scissors! Watching the deer roam through the yard at sunrise was lovely! would stay again only longer next time!

Perfect for family of 4

We had a wonderful time staying at The Lookout! Jill was very communicative and made sure that we were all set with our (very) late arrival. She even looked to see when we were arriving and made suggestions about where to get groceries on our way to the property. The property was very clean and has everything you need for a good visit. There are really great activities nearby and Jill provides suggestions for those as well. Excellent visit!
