An extraordinary property: a beautiful historic mansion, impeccably decorated and thoughtfully appointed for the most discerning traveler. Just outside your bedroom door are are sitting areas for reading or chatting, outside patios and porches with more hospitable seating. Fresh pastries delivered to the coffee station every morning. Best: a barrel sauna in a secluded spot outside, with forest and sky visible through the window. We didn't want to leave!

I stayed in the Brule River room in the carriage house. Just so people know, it’s on the 2nd floor with no elevator. Private bath with shower, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, tv. Air conditioning & a fireplace. Very nice room and neighborhood, with parking in back. Very clean and comfortable. Good communication about check-in. This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed there in that room and would do again.

The place was beautiful, stayed in the Lake Superior Suite, everything was lovely but there was a lack of hot water, tried to use the tub and didn’t have anything past lukewarm water. Shower in the morning was chilly at best. Otherwise, the space was amazing

If you want to be part of Duluth history, you should booked a room at the Salyard Mansion. This is our third reservation in this mansion and we don’t want to book anywhere else in Duluth when we stay for couple of days. You get a unique experience being in the historical part of Duluth and each room is amazing (back in time but very cozy and comfortable).

We loved every aspect of this stay. Even when we returned from dinner there was ample street parking. The remote fireplace sure was nice on a chilly, rainy evening! Tge British pub close by provided the perfect mid-week Bluegrass jam along with excellent meal. This lovely mansion is highly recommended by us!

This property was beautiful. Many areas for guests to use outside and inside. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking for guest behind Mansion. Quiet and safe location. Coffee, tea, muffins, fruit in am.
