Access to the hotel was easy, situated a short distance, from the M5, an ideal base for visiting the many nearby seaside and countryside attractions. Hotels facilities, decor, and cleanliness excellent. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful! Buffet breakfast catered for all tastes and quality was quite good. The disappointment, for us, was the air conditioning. Whilst the corridors seemed refreshingly cool, our room was not. For the entire week our room stat was set to 17.5C. Nevertheless, the actual room temperature never fell below 22-23C which is far too high for comfortable sleep. With aircon fan on full speed air circulation was good but unfortunately the air was not being cooled!

I was extremely unhappy at being asked to leave the top floor communal area while working on my laptop in the early morning. I urgently needed somewhere quiet to review a contract, and two staff members were sent to remove me in a quite officious manner in the middle of me doing this. This was allegedly due to a lack of electricity in the kitchen, but they then explained the real reason was that they had no staff on the top floor, and that the bar was unattended, the implication being that I could not be trusted. As a regular customer and responsible business executive I found their approach heavy handed and disrespectful, as well as totally unnecessary. This spoilt an otherwise pleasant visit.

The building design and decor is good and well laid out, the bedroom was comfy, well lit and clean no milk in bedrooms and non inclusion of breakfast was a bit of a shock however, but otherwise it was a nice modern hotel.

£12 for parking 12hrs is just stupid and should be in the room rate. Kids menu has no vegetables or fruit options. Charcuterie board was awful - no cheese, watery tapenade, and not really a sharing size with 2 small slices of bread. Check-in was awfully slow with a queue of 15-20 people and only 2 check-in staff. Rooms were comfy, but AC stopped working about 2am so room quickly became very hot - possibly linked to wider electric fault that meant breakfast served in the lounge bar not the restaurant. Better breakfasts in a Wetherspoons or premier inn… gym is good, but changing rooms currently out of operation, with no notice… heard other guests grumbling and complaining too.

Average breakfast, as not many options for vegetarians. Not a very warm welcome staff in the morning breakfast room. Cannot recall the name of the two ladies in the breakfast room but they were both unhelpful and when you asked them something they were ready to bite your head off and tell you that you were wrong. Hotel is newly built and close to motorway. Requested to upgrade rooms complimentary was declined saying its not direct booking . Hotel is 12 minutes drive to city centre and close to rugby stadium. We stayed on 4th floor and shower was too slow . Car park is not free so make sure you consider that when booking. Also as you are sharing car park with the rugby stadium make sure there no matches on when you are staying. I returned in the afternoon to a full car park, as there was a match. There was no parking and only managed to find a spot when someone left.
