Wherever you’re coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you’ve prepared well enough. We’ve made a list of handy hints that will help get your Pringle escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you carry the right stuff. First of all you’ll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight is often as simple as the clothes you wear. Prepare yourself for varying temperatures by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin begins to cool down. Shoes like high heels and sandals are best left in your checked suitcase. Even though they may be your favorites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will appreciate it.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There are plenty of ways to lower your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression tights or socks, drink plenty of water and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Walk around the cabin when possible or perform exercises in your seat.
