Great neighborhood. Pool is fine. Breakfast was fine, people helpful. Annex rooms are small. It's an old hotel with 4-star bones and location and 3-star feel. Front desk is helpful except when asking for the location of a nearby lavanderia, they only showed me the expensive in-hotel service.

A magnificent building (converted villa) in a very salubrious area just outside the Roman gate entry to the old town. It’s about a mile to the Ponte Vecchio or €1 on the bus ! The hotel is a little shabby in places but the pool is a little gem to enjoy after a days walking round Florence, albeit a little cold. The bar area could be buzzing but is infrequently manned and therefore doesn’t draw the guests. We had no wardrobes just a hanging rail and absolutely no drawer space or bedside cabinets In summary, a lovely out of town period property very well located in a peaceful affluent area, ideal if you don’t want to be in the hubbub of the centre of Florence but close enough to enjoy it.

Great experience at Hotel Villa Carlotta. Quiet location with a lovely pool that unfortunately we didn't have time to use. My only note was it would have been nice to have been offered a drink while we were sat by the pool on our first morning but that's a minor minor detail. Loved it and would have loved to stay longer.

just like the building, the property is old and rundown. The air-conditioning did not work and there were bedbugs and we found bedbugs in the room. the pool is ok and breakfast could be better. the only thing good was the front desk help calling taxi and restaurants reservations.

This hotel was listed as 4 star. The decor is WW2 era. Not what I've seen in other 4-5 star hotels. The rooms are clean but again very spare and dated. The breakfast is just the basics nothing special. The staff is kind and helpful. I appreciate all they did with arranging an early morning taxi and storing my luggage. It's situated in a beautiful historic area but there are no restaurants close by (walking distance). The pool is a nice perk especially since the temp was 98-100 degrees. It's quiet and off the beaten track.
