The hotel was way off the beat path, loved this about i- quiet and secluded. A lovely dining and lounge area to enjoy tea or coffee in the evening.

Budget friendly and flexible
The fact that you can check in at anytime is wonderful when you have a long journey to make. Yes the place could do with a refresh but it’s great great value.
This a lodge off the beaten path. Gorgeous drive. It’s quiet & secluded. There are restaurants approx 16 mins north. If you need WiFi or lively entertainment, maybe not for you. It’s quaint & cozy. A place to relax & take in the area. The views & scenery is amazing.
Hotel is great and clean. The experience was a bit eerie as I didn't see any staff or other guests, check-in instructions were sent by email. Nice place!
Lovely relaxing place to stay with 'old world' feel.
Only down were the pillows which were too thin.
Great place to relax and wind down.

The property is far away from any amenities. It is take your own food with communal kitchen and dining..Although it is a bit dated it was clean and unique..
Remote area, more of a very clean and warm bothy than a conventionalhotel. Facilities are basic, but as you would expect. Quite extensive for what you get at this time of year we stayed. Bring you own food, microwave available but no oven, a hob with 2 rings. I enjoyed staying. The place and room are very clean.

On arrival other people were about and showed us what what to do and where to go key safe worked well we slept well your coffee we liked we had our own food in the car for breakfast . if we are lucky enough to go back to Scotland next year and going to be in that area I’m sure we would come again as we are both 84 we never know what the future holds . If you can keep the costs down I’m sure you’ll be a success
This is a remote location and is self-serve only, there is nobody at the property full or part-time. Check-in was fine, the room was adequate and things were reasonably clean. There is no food at the property nor is there anywhere close to buy anything. So, come prepared as there is a refrigerator and a kitchenette if you choose to use that.
It was difficult to gain remote access due poor communication from Expedia. Owner tried to assist had to foreward details which he found difficult. Other guests tried to help also. Once entry was gained found room easily. Enjoyed the communication with other guest's. Overall a different experience, would return again if in the area now we know how the process works.

Overall, the facilities and accommodation are good choices in this sparsely populated area, which is largely dominated by peatland. The host kindly provided us with enough water bottles for our overnight stay. However, the shower room is quite small, and the water pressure is low, which made the shower less enjoyable. The coffee and tea supplies in the dining hall are very convenient, especially since there are no nearby shops—the closest supermarket is about 20 miles away. It's important to bring your own food, as dining options are scarce, and you may find yourself without a meal if you're not prepared.
Great location for a stopover on the Great North Trail. However there are no amenities in Forsinard except the local tea shop which closes at 4pm. Because the hotel is completely unmanned prior planning is essential if you don't have transport or have prepared beforehand.
It was a place to stay!! Damp smell on entry, shower head kept dropping, I would not stay again, only good thing was the bedding was clean, pillows quite hard.
