Great Time & View

Overall, our stay was wonderful. There were some concerns with the property itself as far as trying to figure out how to operate ceiling fans/lights simultaneously when all three remotes were on the same frequency. Also, we discovered on the second day that the dishwasher did not work properly. I thought I'd failed to start it the night before, so I put another detergent pod in and started it again. That evening, I figured out it wasn't working so I unloaded and washed all our dishes by hand from that point on.

Stay at Summer Place resort.

Not bad, just some things that were broken. Sofa bed, dishwasher and no hot water in kitchen sink. The dishes in cabinets, some were still wet and dirty. Probably due to dishwasher not working properly. No pot holders,dishcloth or sponge to clean or wipe counters. Other than those thing's, my stay was ok.

Beautiful View, but what a mess!

The location of this condo is great! Smack dab in the middle of the sixth floor so the view of the Gulf is stellar. However it is right where everyone gets on and off the elevators, so the bedrooms closest to the elevators get A LOT of people noise! I would recommend people pack sound machines to drown out all the people returning to their condos late at night. The two beach chairs and umbrella that was provided was very nice, especially when temps were in the high 90’s the whole time we were there. There is a fairly new 12 cup coffee maker, and TWO extra coffee makers at the top of the pantry! The hairdryer in the primary bathroom was also new, and it worked well. All in all this is a lovely condo in a prime location, it just doesn’t seem to be managed very well. We spent two days of our vacation texting Vacasa trying to get someone to fix the broken bed frame in the primary bedroom, unclog the primary bathroom sinks that would not drain, and the second bathroom shower drain, troubleshoot the ice maker that poured water, and figure out why the fridge wasn’t cooling, learning the main large, wall mounted TV was not working so a small TV was set on a table under the wall mounted TV and connected to the cable box, then realizing that none of the TV’s were smart TV’s so we could not stream any movies for family movie nights. The kitchen faucet is incorrectly installed, and no hot water comes out of the faucet. Most of these issues have been repeatedly mentioned by others.

End of Summer getaway

Location is great. You are right on the beach. Pool is directly under the room. View is great unless you want to sit down. There are no high top chairs, so you have to look through bars if you are sitting. We had a few problems with the unit: one of master sinks didn’t drain- not a big deal we used the other one, the kitchen faucet doesn’t work properly and was difficult to turn on- very annoying, but we could still get water, and the icemaker did not work at all. This was a problem for us as we were making drinks and bringing a cooler to the beach daily. We had to go out and buy ice. Lastly, the master king bed needs at the very least a different frame- the mattress kept slipping through when we got in bed and occasionally during the night. I let Vacasa know about these issues and communication was great until I gave them permission to go in the unit and fix these things. Never heard from them again until it was time to check out. Nonetheless enjoyed our stay and made the best of it.

Our family enjoyed our stay. Checking in was very easy. Location was great. Easy access to the pools, hot tub, and beach. The location of the condo was also great. It was convenient to get to restaurants and the grocery.

I wouldn’t stay here, again

Cons: The master bed was AWFUL. Just so incredibly horrible. There were exposed wires in at least 3 different spots. The coffee pot was tiny like what you’d see that is acceptable in a small hotel room. The building was big so the beach was crowded even in October. The beach service does the chairs in a wavy line which gives room for the guests at the hotel next door to put their own chairs and umbrellas in front of everyone blocking the view of the beach and making the beach service a somewhat pointless effort. Going out on the balcony wasn’t relaxing at night because of the two pools that were full of people. The door is literally right next to the elevators so you hear everyone as they come and go. There were no towel bars unless you use the one above the toilets..which is gross, to me. Neither bathtub was updated, so the tubs were old and gross from age. The master shower curtain was moldy. We showered with flip flops on. The trash can wasn’t even a normal can. It was wide and short with no top. So it didn’t hold an entire trash bag, and smelled quickly without a top. The floors were dirty. My kids socks were blackened from walking in the condo. The dishwasher, guest tub, and one of the master sinks didn’t drain properly. Vacasa texted me the day of arrival and asked me the names and ages of my children, which made me uncomfortable and I felt was unnecessary for my stay. Pros: Condo was visibly clean upon arrival. No sign of bugs. The updates like the counters and flooring was nice.

We brought our daughter’s family including 3 kids and we had a wonderful time

My only gripe was I sent some questions and they were answered after we left Dallas. The 7 of us were in a SUV with limited space and it would have helped to know the answers to my questions before we left for FL.

Our Review

The condo was very nice. It’s in a great location and the ocean view was amazing! I did message the host several times a couple weeks of us arriving…. Never got a response until we were already checked in. The details of the condo need to also tell the guest to bring own toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags. We are a family of 5 and 3 of this being teenagers. We were only left with 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towels and I trash bag to do us for 6 nights 7 days. Had we known this, I’d brought this stuff from home instead of having to go back to the store and get it. The 3rd bedroom is really small, it much room to move around. I’m sure it’s great if guy have small kids. All in all it’s a good place to stay.

Great property, can’t wait to visit again!

The location was ideal as far as accessibility and beach placement. The photos don’t do this property justice. My older kids were able to run back and forth from the condo to the pool or beach by themselves and being in the center of the building I could easily watch them from the balcony if they went to the pool or beach. My husband has had multiple back surgeries so I have to stress how great the mattress was in the master. This is always a concern when we travel. I received a text from the property mgr the morning of check in and let her know we would be after 5:00 checking in so she offered a check in by text and I accepted. This was also very easily done by sending a list of our party and how many cars we’d have. All paperwork was left in our room for arrival. The shopping and restaurant/night life is a short 15 minute drive from Fort Walton. Two beach chairs were provided daily. My husband woke up in the mornings and took a towel down to claim our chairs for the day. I’ll also add that the beaches are not crowded because none of the condos surrounding are high rises. Overall I give ten stars as the location was great, communication with mgmt was great!

Family vacation Summer Place

The property was in a great location to things to do. Easy check in and even got in earlier than expected. Overall it was very clean. Master bed was broken. We called for repair but they didn't seem to think it needed it. We just made it work . The only other thing was the ice maker had a leak that froze in huge pieces. No sunrise or sunset view which is my favorite part.

Peaceful clean getaway

Communication with Vacasa could be a little better: 1. I called them in advance asking to confirm whether beach chairs are available so I can leave mine home. Was told 2 chairs are available. When we arrived and couldn't find them - asked them again and was told that beach chairs are not available because it's off season. Thanks for the misleading! If I knew this the first time I called - I would bring mine chairs with me. 2. Spend around an hour figuring out how to get my parking permit. Instructions provided by Vacasa were not clear. The unit itself is GREAT! Nice location, nice renovation, all the utensils and amenities are in place. There are few minor things that didn't work well (like a door lock in master bathroom), but again - those are really minor that I don't even want to mention about that. Great property! Would definitely recommend!

Great location

We have stayed at Summer Place for 10 years now, But our first time in 605. Very Comfortable, view is awesome, great location. Very minimal utensils . there was only 1 knife , no paring knifes, steak knifes etc. Only 1 serving bowl. No mixer. Could have used more seating in living room. Queen beds were comfortable but the king bed is very firm and could feel springs. Mold in the jacuzzi jets, although we did not use it.if we stay in 605 again I will remember to bring bowls and knifes. We had a wonderful time at the beach!

Nice view but needs some improvements

Great view! The location was convenient to the convention center, which was necessary for our family. It could have been cleaner. There was sand in the bed sheets! If the linens had been cleaned prior to our stay, that should not have happened. There are no hooks for towels in the bathrooms. We had six people and nowhere to dry bath or beach towels. There are very few hangers in the closets. The beach access and pool were great!

Perfect location

Great view and location. Small 3rd bedroom.

Overall good experience. Kitchen well stocked and right on the beach. The 3rd bedroom (bunk beds) is really small - but ok for young kids.
