Located at the base of the Cullasaja River Gorge, 5 miles from Franklin, the Rivers Edge Cabin offers easy water access. 10 miles from Highlands, NC. Relax on the open deck to the sound of rushing mountain water or... better yet... jump in! The kitchen is open with a dining table and a bar area. It is outfitted with cookware, utensils, dishes, a coffee maker, a toaster, and more. The cabin is fully stocked with linens, bedding, towels, & blankets. The deck area has plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors, gas grill cooking, or just relax by the water. The cabin has Wi-Fi and XM radio. The living area is equipped with a flat-screen TV (with Netflix and other streaming channels you can log into) and a DVD player with an assortment of movies. There are also two enclosed porch areas that are perfect for rainy days. Plus tubes, kayaks, and a fire pit! Experience the beauty of 3 waterfalls..... (Dry Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, the Cullasaja Gorge) just a short distance from the cabin. Hike the many Nantahala Trails such as the Carolina Ridge and Ranger Fall Loop. If you do not have a crate your pet must be able to be left on the porch. You will be responsible for any damages created by your pet. We do not allow pets on the bedding or the furniture. And we expect you to clean up after your pet inside and out. If you allow your pet to enjoy the Cullasaja River with you, please make sure their paws are clean before going back into the cabin. We have supplied a water hose in case it's needed. We appreciate you following the rules of the River’s Edge Cabin so all our guests can enjoy their stay.

Love this place

The setting is beautiful, sounds of the river are relaxing. The little cabin is charming with everything hyoid might need. Location is convenient to everything. Highly recommend.

My kids had a blast playing on the river all day!! We only stayed for 3 nights, but I'll definitely come back for longer next time!! I did check out early on a Sunday, so I brought the trash to the recycling center Saturday before they closed, a slight inconvenience, but I would'nt ding them for that.

This precious cabin was a perfect getaway! Situated right on the Cullasaja river, it provided the ideal location for a visit to the mountains! Looking forward to returning!

Amazing cabin on the river

We spent a few days relaxing this fall in this cabin with the sounds of water moving in the river while enjoying the deck and the screened in porch, amazing! We loved everything about this place and hope to return again one day.

Beautiful ,relaxing and fun! Plenty to do in the area. Enjoyed hiking multiple waterfalls. Shopping antique malls and downtown.

Stay on the river.

I can't say enough good things about this stay. This cottage was a perfect get away. Lots of little things they thought of, nic nac basket with some of the things you may have forgotten. It is right on the river and that made the warm weather o so much easier to handle.

rivers edge

we usually come to n.c to ride the blueridge and roads off it. rivers edge nice quiet place and relaxing. been coming here for about past 4 years and we enjoy it

It is a beautiful, very clean older place. It was easy to find. The only drawback was the neighbor with the red SUV. On our first morning there, she banged on the door actually scaring us. We had parked in the gravel in front of our cottage. She informed us with balled up fists on her hips that we had to move our vehicle. Later, we drove how she could have gone around us. We were not blocking her in.

summer getaway

come up for the week for riding back roads . rained the first few days but nice to relax . cabins in a quite area clean , but still close enough to town. its nice place on the creek. plenty to do and see. enjoyed our trip looking forward coming back in a couple months

Great family get away

We enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and perfect for us and 2 kids. We enjoyed fishing in the creek and caught a few trout. We enjoyed playing games at night and built a bon fire. The location was perfect. We were able to visit some nearby waterfalls and drove south to Tallulah falls and Clayton Georgia for a day as well!

Fishing cabin

So, it was a very cold monday when I got there. Found the baseboard heaters and cabin was comfortable. This spot in the river is mesmerizing. It is an older, rustic cabin but was very comfortable, everything worked, and check-in and out was super easy. I'd definitely stay here again but would love to try it in the summer.

Wonderful weekend stay!

This property is exactly right for a summer weekend away - the water access cannot be beat and lots of great hiking nearby. The cabin is comfortable and well equipped. It was really special to be able to bring our dog- she loved sitting on the front porch watching the fireflies (and rabbits) in the field.

Can’t wait to come back!

Super spot for me near the bottom of the Franklin-Highlands road. I was there for a family emergency, but I can’t wait to come back and put those kayaks to good use. There was an administrative issue that created some problems with check-in, but the hosts did everything they could to resolve the issue. Great people! Being able to sit out on the back porch over the Culasaja River was so peaceful and I really enjoyed listening to the roiling water as I drifted off to sleep. The bed was very comfortable and I had everything I needed except a full length mirror. Thank you so much! Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful Cabin on the River

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. It is right on the river so we stayed on the deck most of the time we were at the cabin and listened to the river and watched and fed the geese and their babies as they swam by. Coffee in the mornings and reading on the deck was so relaxing while enjoying the river. The cabin was very clean and had everything you needed to make it feel like home. We highly recommend this cabin.

Excellent Water Therapy

The house is cute and has everything needed for a relaxing and calming time. Being able to sit outside and listen to the water rushing by and taking a quick dip or raft, kayak trip was also a wonderful experience. My doggo also had a wonderful timne playing and he felt super relaxed in the space as well.

Lovely cottage on the river

This charming cabin on the river was perfect for our 3-day stay in the Franklin area. Furnishings were comfortable and the cabin was cozy and warm during the cool evenings. The deck looked so inviting but the drizzly cold weather kept us from spending our evenings out there. Next time!

Fall Escape

This property is ideal. Right on the river. Can walk down and wade or sit in chairs at water. Minutes from Franklin. It does have neighbors across river and beside home but that didn’t take away from peaceful location.
