surfside at Surfside

We loved having the front of the house looking directly out at the ocean. Whether inside, in the living room, or outside on the patio, the gorgeous view of the ocean was a 24/7 pleasure. The house was also very comfortable, clean and well-stocked. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms clean. We will (hopefully) stay again!

Fantastic place and neat location away from Houston.

Came to the area for a week to visit my daughter and her husband, but didn’t want to stay in a hotel. This place was fantastic, 10 miles from where they lived and turned out to be a much better hangout point than their apartment complex. The place was clean, well cared for, and they neat location on the beach. They’re in Freeport. We are coming back to the area next spring, and would love to stay here again.

You can't change the weather

Ocean in my lap

This is our favorite place to stay in Surfside. We love that the ocean is so close. We spend our days on the porch enjoying the waves and the sound of the surf, even when it was cold and windy. Each morning welcomes us with a breathtaking sunrise. The home provides everything we need. The beds can use an upgrade, but we still can’t wait to come back. This is the perfect spot to enjoy the ocean.

Gorgeous view! The house was very clean, beds comfy, the water pressure in shower was great. Property owner is very courteous and responds to any messages very quickly. Only issue was an apparent unforeseen sewage leak on or near the property, that produced a horrendous odor during our stay. However, im sure this is not normally the case.

Perfect location

The location was spot on! The house itself really needs updated. Guest shower did not want to shut off completely, washer didnt work, the windows all need updated underneath each one showed light and the door also didnt seal. The location made up for this, if there is downtime it would great to do the updates.

Pros: location waterfront. Deck. 2br/2bath. Price. Good beds. Ample dinning room and living room. Good kitchen stock for cooking. Cons: this a duplex unit and noise is easily heard throw the wall/door. No sand in front of unit, it’s rock but sand 3 houses down the beach

First row, beach front location was amazing! However, it was challenging to see the amazing view from inside the cabin due to fogged windows from broken seals. The porch was shaded during the afternoons--excellent--but no pina coladas or margaritas could be enjoyed due to a broken blender. We have experienced MANY beach house rentals, and this one sorely needed some TLC. So, while this property provided 5 star location, the lack of property maintenance significantly decreased our enjoyment.

Location, Location, Location

The location of this rental is phenomenal. The deck is perfect for enjoying sunrises and moonrises, and for watching the surfers. Walk down the beach in either direction at low tide, at high tide beach walks are best done to the northeast, towards Galveston, where the beach is wider. The view from the main living area is stunning, though one of the four picture windows has a broken seal, clouding the glass and obstructing the view. We visited in late February, so much of the time the weather permitted keeping the door open so we could hear the surf. We wished there was a storm door with a screen so we could have the door open without letting in mosquitoes (thankfully the blood-suckers seem to prefer ground level). Previous renter(s) failed to notify the host of some problems; host was very appreciative when I brought a few things to her attention. Beds are comfortable enough. Kitchen is suitably equipped. Sofas weren’t particularly comfortable for evening movie viewing but we made due.
