Getaway in the Country

We were in the UK for a family event and needed an place for 6 adults for one week, this place was perfect. Located near enough to the events but far enough to give us some breathing room from the family. The cottage we clean and more importantly, warm on the damp country days and nights. The owner was accommodating because we had an early arrival from the US and when we suddenly found ourselves with an EV that needed charging. All in all a perfect place for a country getaway

Everything has been thought about. Beautiful wraparound terrace. Idyllic view over rolling lawn with resident bunnies leading up to a charming series of ponds.

A perfect location for a three night stay to explore Frome, Longleat and Bath. Sally was most welcoming, with good communication leading up to our break. The lodge itself is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. Home from home. Thank you Sally.

Brilliant place to stay

This was the most chilled and relaxing break we've had . The lodge had everything we needed-including groceries on arrival which were very much appreciated . We had our 2 g/kids ( 2+4 ) and there was a safe park and every toy they needed .Loads of places to visit nearby ( Longleat especially , and Wookey hole ).Many thanks to Sally and Steve who welcomed us and were most helpful, the whole experience was a credit to them. Hope to see you ago in the future.

Wir haben hier mit unseren beiden Kindern (9 und 11 Jahre) eine Woche Strand- und Wanderurlaub gemacht. Für uns war das Haus einfach perfekt. Ruhig, hell und stilvoll eingerichtet. Ein Surfer-Nest gepaart mit sämtlichen Komfort, auf den wir mittlerweile nicht mehr verzichten wollen. Drinnen und im Garten viel Platz und überall gemütliche Ecken zum chillen. Der Hausstrand (2 Minuten Gehzeit) war auch am letzten Tag noch eine Attraktion, weitere Strände sind fussläufig erreichbar. Danke für eine phantastische Woche!

Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt

Es war ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt. Wir wurden liebevoll begrüßt mit einem Leib Brot etwas Essen im Kühlschrank, Kaffee und Tee. Eigentlich war das Objekt sehr schön, doch bei heißen Temperaturen über 25 Grad wird der Bungalow nachts zur Sauna. Etwas stört der laute Verkehrslärm aus der Nachbarschaft

Einfach perfekt!

Wir sind von den Gastgebern herzlich empfangen worden und haben uns im Ferienhaus 'Beckington' sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr gepflegt und sauber. Das weitläufige Gelânde um das Haus eröffnet schöne Blicke und gibt genug Privatsphäre. Sehr gut gefallen haben uns auch die Aufmerksamkeiten (z.B. frisches Brot bei der Ankunft, ...) Danke noch einmal!!! Die Gegend ist wunderschön und bietet viele Möglichkeiten für Ausflüge. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

well equipped lodge in peaceful backwater

these lodges have everything you need for a family break, nicely furnished decking for the grown ups and plenty of green space for the youngsters. Sally and Steve are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. We would love to return, there's so much to see in the area.

Great short break near Longleat

Great accommodation, very near Bath, Salisbury & Longleat. Facilities were great especially the kitchen, making it easy to eat in when we wanted to. Four adults stayed but could easily accommodate more. Would highly recommend staying here

Wonderful week

We had a wonderful week in Beckington! We immediately felt comfortable in the spacious, modern and well kept house. When we arrived in the evening, bread, milk and butter were already in the fridge. So we didn't have to go shopping for breakfast next morning. Sally welcomed us warmly and recommended some interesting trips in the region, while Steve came along for looking after the house after a regional power cut. The house is well equipped, even dishwasher tabs and salad oil were on the hand. Sitting at the dining table was always a pleasure, just because of having a great view over the grain fields or looking at the other guests' children playing on the vast property. We enjoyed the quiet environment, but also used many opportunities for excursions to exciting destinations in the surrounding area. Our highest recommendations!

Lovely base to explore area

We had a lovely time at the lodge. The lodge itself was well equipped, nice and clean and best of all was well heated, which was crucial as the weather turned cold just as we arrived! The setting was ideal for the places in east Somerset we wanted to visit - Longleat (which was excellent and perfect for the kids) and Wells, to see the Cathedral and Bishop's Palace there, both of which were lovely and the town itself is also lovely. All in all, a nice break!
