You'll find all of the modern updates to the kitchen and baths in this 2BR 1.5 Bth home but the 1840s charm remains!

Along with the two bedrooms, there is an additional space to sleep on a fold down couch in Den.

We stocked the kitchen with a Thanksgiving meal in mind, so bring your culinary skills!

The porches are the perfect place to watch the world go by with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

The location is ideal for making your way to the shops and restaurants on Main Street. Leave your car and walk 8-10 minutes and you are in the heart of the fun!

Grant Park is just across the pedestrian bridge from downtown.

If you are looking to enjoy the outdoors, The river trail is just below Grant Park and you can kayak on the Galena River. There are kayak rental locations near the river. In the winter, there's skiing or hiking at Chestnut Mountain. We've got some brochures in our Welcome Book as well.

History is front and center in Galena-- so whether you check out the homes of President Grant, hop on
the Trolley Tour, visit the Galena History Museum or just walk around the Historic District, you'll feel like a step back in time.

There is never a shortage of things to do in Galena, no matter the season. We are happy to welcome you to this beautiful part of the world.

Galena magic

Home felt comfortable as soon as we walked in. Very well decorated and had furnishings to add to the joy of breaking away from the routine. Galena is Illinois’s best retreat from the noise of our current state of affairs in America.

GREAT HOUSE

Check-in was a breeze, house was absolutely perfect, clean, and had EVERYTHING we could ever need. The walk to downtown was about 10 min., but great exercise. We'll be back!

Bachelorette Party

We rented this place for my daughter's bachelorette party. There were 4 of us and we had plenty of room. Place is super cute and only 2 blocks from Main Street in Galena. Beds were soooooo comfortable. Definitely would stay here again!

Fantastic, charming home with lots of nostalgic details. The location to downtown Galena was perfect, just a short walk down the hill. The house was stocked with plenty of towels and linens. The beds were very cozy and there was plenty of room to spread out. Sipping a hot cup of coffee on the porch in the morning was a perfect start to the day and game night at the kitchen table was a blast. The light switches were all labeled making it very easy to know what switch to flip. Side note…there are quite a few steep steps that lead up to the house which might be an issue for some.

Perfect House

This house was perfect for our yearly trip to Galena. So clean & spacious! We didn’t even use the second living room. And just a short walk to downtown. We will definitely be back!

This is the 2nd time we have stayed in this cute house. We really enjoy the atmosphere of this home and close to downtown to walk. Always clean. We will be back again.

2nd Stay - another 10/10

My family has twice stayed here and each time it was perfect. The cleanliness is amazing. The communication with the owner is perfect. She is always quick to respond. We are able to walk to the downtown from the home, which helps because parking is hard sometimes in the shopping area. I can't say enough good things about staying here. It's on-point with the quaint homes of Galena.

Convenient Location

Everything was as listed. The house was clean and the basics, like coffee, were included. We got in late so getting in was a little tricky, but Marion answered her phone and helped us.The location was just a few minutes from downtown.

Great Weekend in Beautiful Home

We had a great weekend in this beautiful, historic home. Every detail in the home was carefully thought about. Kitchen was great for cooking and the porch was great for sitting. Very comfortable beds and cozy couches. Perfect walk to downtown for all of our entertainment.

Wonderful Historic Home

We enjoyed this beautiful historic home with all the updated amenities. We especially enjoyed watching a family of foxes out the kitchen window in the early mornings and evenings. The kitchen area was easy and spacious. If you can walk hills, you'll love walking to and from downtown Galena.

Location, Location!

4 of us senior adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Blocks from Main street a definite plus for walkability! Enjoyed the side porch and nicely remodeled layout with both bedrooms and baths on one floor. Very clean! Marion quickly responded to our questions. Worked well for us all!

Great location for local shopping and fun!

The house was situated very close to the main street for shopping and dining. Parking was easy on the street. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was immaculate. We appreciated all of the soft linens and towels. For four women, the house was absolutely perfect. We also really enjoyed sitting out the deck each night with the swing and got to watch deer across the way. Spectacular home and really easy check in process!

Delightful

This home is curated with such care and thought. We enjoyed ourselves immensely in this property for a weekend of shopping and friendship. The location is ideal to walk to town. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, or gather. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are adorable. The living area was perfect for sitting with a glass of wine or coffee in the morning with lots of windows and light coming through. We were three 60 year old women and had no problem with the stairs as mentioned in some of the other posts. The host responded immediately and graciously if we had a question. It was delightful.
