About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

10 Min Walk to Main St., Updated 1840s Historic Home, Stocked Kitchen, W/D,

You'll find all of the modern updates to the kitchen and baths in this 2BR 1.5 Bth home but the 1840s charm remains!

Along with the two bedrooms, there is an additional space to sleep on a fold down couch in Den.

We stocked the kitchen with a Thanksgiving meal in mind, so bring your culinary skills!

The porches are the perfect place to watch the world go by with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

The location is ideal for making your way to the shops and restaurants on Main Street. Leave your car and walk 8-10 minutes and you are in the heart of the fun!

Grant Park is just across the pedestrian bridge from downtown.

If you are looking to enjoy the outdoors, The river trail is just below Grant Park and you can kayak on the Galena River. There are kayak rental locations near the river. In the winter, there's skiing or hiking at Chestnut Mountain. We've got some brochures in our Welcome Book as well.

History is front and center in Galena-- so whether you check out the homes of President Grant, hop on
the Trolley Tour, visit the Galena History Museum or just walk around the Historic District, you'll feel like a step back in time.

There is never a shortage of things to do in Galena, no matter the season. We are happy to welcome you to this beautiful part of the world.

NOTE: The house is on a hill and there are a lot of stairs.

Wonderful Historic Home
We enjoyed this beautiful historic home with all the updated amenities. We especially enjoyed watching a family of foxes out the kitchen window in the early mornings and evenings. The kitchen area was easy and spacious. If you can walk hills, you'll love walking to and from downtown Galena.

Perfectly Galena Style
From the minute we unlocked the door, till we left - I cannot say enough about the home. Simply adorable - if you are at all familiar with the beautiful homes in Galena. This home was beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. Everything had been updated, so you had a nice kitchen and baths to use.The home is so convenient to walk to the downtown shops and restaurants. The parking is on the street, but not a problem to find something right in front of the house. You will need to climb stairs, but no biggie, unless you're handicapped or struggle with stairs. We so enjoyed being able to stay all together, giving us time as a family to eat and chat about our day or whatever. We had a hotel with two rooms reserved, but that would have totally separated us, and not given us the family time together. I cannot say enough about this home and location. The owner was so great to get a hold of prior to checking in, and if we had questions she was more than happy to have us reach out to her during our stay.

Great location for local shopping and fun!
The house was situated very close to the main street for shopping and dining. Parking was easy on the street. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was immaculate. We appreciated all of the soft linens and towels. For four women, the house was absolutely perfect. We also really enjoyed sitting out the deck each night with the swing and got to watch deer across the way. Spectacular home and really easy check in process!

Girls Weekend
Marion’s house was exactly plus more than we expected! We loved the cozy, historic feel, the decorating and all the extra touches like fireplaces, antique phones, motion detector night lights in hall and kitchen. The beds were amazingly comfortable. I would not recommend to anyone who does not do well with stairs but for our group of ladies 47 to 66 it wasn’t a problem. We were lucky with the early April weather and the 10 minute walk to Main Street was an easy one. This home would be a great place to curl up to read a book or watch a movie also. I would give 5 stars and would love to stay again.
