We loved the location of this condo! It was off the main roads and quite quiet of a stay. There was easy access to beaches and a grocery store. We benefitted from the county clubs evening music and the neighbors were nice. There is a water hose just outside the garage to rinse sandy feet off before entering the unit. Bonus was getting to watch the sunset on the bay side of the island on one of two decks.
However, there were a few things to mention. Upon opening the door, there was a heavy smell of mildew/mold. You could probably track it to the A/C unit. There are two flights of stairs with the kitchen on the top floor. Getting groceries and ice chests up was a chore. There is a stove with three of four burners that worked and a dishwasher that worked only when a switch is flipped. Our first evening we got settled in and washed the silverware and some dishes as they were not clean. There were food bits in the silverware tray/ silverware and debris stuck to dishes and cups. The blender was the worst offender with a flaky smoothie mess from a previous occupant. No biggie once we got that squared away. There are no sharp knives in this unit; may consider bringing your own. We did notice the bedroom level toilet had a long, slow flush so considered a possible clog in the drain as the reason for that and the shower draining very slowly. We did find a strikingly large hair ball in the drain of the shower. These things are more likely an issue of Vacasa management or who they have hired out to clean the unit. We did try to contact Vacasa about an issue we had with the unit only to be hung up on twice and our chat with them disconnected. We even reached out to VRBO for assistance (they were awesome), and they were hung up on by Vacasa too.
There are kayaks on site, but they are locked up and no key is clearly available. Also, should note that the pier to put in any kayaks was not geared for the smaller sized boats, an alternative would have been to put in at the marshy shallow areas with waist deep vegetation. We did reach out to the unit owner concerning the use of kayaks or where to find ones that were available, and still haven't received a response for that.
We also noticed that the Master bed has two adult sized dips and the sofa also gravitates to the center. The dining table is really only geared to set three people unless you want to move furniture.
This unit would be a nicer place if some of these issues were considered.
