Staff is accommodating and friendly. There are few things that need to be fixed. The shower temperature is either super hot or super cold, nothing in between. There’s barely water coming out from the sink faucet. Their jacuzzi is not working when I arrived but they have told me it hasn’t worked for a while. Though the resort is very calming, lots of trees and ornamental plants. So far I enjoyed my stay in spite of a few broken amenities. Their pool btw is surprisingly warm even though it is not heated.

Its a lovely place to stay but the mosquitoes in the room at night will eat you alive. The staff are happy to spray the room if you ask. Our room had stairs to the second level. They were very steep so make sure you are fit. Also the bathroom was on the lower level so negotiating the vertical stairs during the night was not for the faint hearted.

The Hillside Resort was the perfect stay for us. If you are looking for a quiet place close to the downtown area on Tourist Road, by bike it is 7 min. The resort had all services available (i.e. motorbike rental, island hopping tours, etc.) Its all away from the traffic and noise and the sound of nature around us was beyond the experience we anticipated. Maraming Salamat Hillside staff and management for the amazing service!

Beautiful hotel, but in need of an upgrade
This hotel and its surroundings are really beautiful. Having a pool was great and the food at the restaurant was really good too. I also got a welcome drink on arrival and a room overlooking the pool. The staff are well trained and very helpful. The only downsides are that the room needed upgrading, particularly the bathroom, and the sliding doors didn’t close properly so there were a lot of bugs in the room. My front door lock was also faulty so it was hard to get back into my room each time, and on one night the power went out and when it came back on the doorbell rang and the tv turned on really loudly along with a loud generator at 3am. The hotel as a whole is really nice though and a good retreat for a quiet few days on a paradise island (if you don’t mind the bugs and hundred of mosquitoes).

Their published rate is cheaper by $50/nite as compared to the rate we got at hotels.com. plus they offer free breakfast for 5 pax while online doesnt have free breakfast. A few dollar difference would have been acceptable but $50/night rate difference is a lot. We felt scammed. Their location is far from the restaurants or tourism area. Their room is nice but water flooded the ground floor of our villa on our second night.

Great place for the price!
Hillside Resort was great! From the rooms to the customer service of all of the employees! It is very close to everything & you can also book tours, motor bikes, laundry service, etc all at the front desk. Definitely coming back again.

The water system broke down on the first day we were there. When we returned to our room after dinner, the water from the shower and sink smelled like sewage. No one was there to help, and the only staff was on duty was telling us it is normal. It obviously wasn't normal. We didn't shower that night and next morning, the water literally turned brown. Took them a day to fix it. After that, things were largely fine. We stayed at Villa Maya and Bravo's before, service here is not as good.

Hillside resort Siargao is perfect for families. Spacious villas, yummy food and we liked the complimentary shuttle going to Gen Luna. Highly recommended.

Hospitality and maintenance were two things that I would recommend for review by management/ owner. We stayed here for three nights for our honeymoon and unfortunately this hotel took away from the experience we had with this beautiful island. We stayed in a deluxe room due to the villas being booked up and I would have changed hotel if were aware of the coming experience. Areas of opportunity: - Corners were cut to save cost and this sacrifices practicality. Mismatching/ broken toilet seats in room and reception. Minimal needs of a soap bar holder and towel holder were no where in sight. We had a third of a roll of toilet paper with no refill by housekeeping on the third day. - Tiny bathroom so much of the shower water would expand to half of the floor. - Restaurant waits were 30 minutes for each process, even as the only customer. It then became a self service- walking to the counter to order. - When items on the menu ran out, they would not notify you, but bring the item out without the product. Ice cream pancakes, came with no ice cream. - Hotel dogs were allowed in dining area and pooped on the floor and then sat in customer chairs. - Shuttles were great, but were told lies twice, about hours that were on display on the reception counter. - First day of motor bike, we were given one that died every ten minutes. Pros: - Refillable water station - Backdrop of hotel showcases the beautiful of siargao's wilderness. - Free shuttle in general luna

Nice newer resort
Nice newer resort, very nice landscaping, plants and vegetations are very appropriate for an island setting, very peaceful and quiet. We love the pool and jacuzzi, nice way to cool down and relax. Staff are very nice, courteous, helpful. Reason for a 4 star review is the location and road condition which is a bit rough. Also the linens smell musty though they are clean, something to improve. Overall itya nice place to stay in Siargao.

Nice, new facilities, clean and accomodating. Stayed in the family villa, a little small for 6 people, maybe good for 4 adults or 2 adults 3 kids. Needs stronger wifi.

The rooms are small but nicely designed and built. There is no eating facility or one you can walk to close by but a restaurant is being constructed on the property. The road leading to the hotel is grim. Despite the negatives I’d stay here again.

The scenery at the resort is really nice, a lot of trees and plants. Very good value of money. It is 1km from the main street in General Luna for eating and bars. My room is comfortable, the staff is nice and friendly. The room has pretty much everything you need such as toothbrushes, soaps, kettle, shaving kits. I have nothing to complain. Thank you for a nice stay.
