We stayed for a skiing trip and were pleasantly surprised that our stay just became another exciting part of our journey. This place has a wonderful civil war history and the occasional unexplained noise or ghost sightings. Truly a fantastic stay

we liked the history and decor of the inn. tge breakfast was great. but not much heat! the room was 65 degrees or less the whole night. But we were given some coffee mugs as compensation...lol

I was a wonderful place to visit and full of history! We will definitely go back next year (ski season). Note for people with a walking difficulties, the house has "settled" and the staircase and some of the first floor is pretty slanted.

The Fairfield Inn was a beautifully decorated historic B&B located in Fairfield, just 8 miles west of Gettysburg. It has big rooms, very comfortable beds, and unique history. I highly recommend this B&B if you are exploring Gettysburg.

Rustic B&B in a centuries old Inn

We wanted to stay at a rustic B&B within 10 miles of Gettysburg. Sloping floors that creek when you walk on them, ghost rumors, extremely old building (warts and all) with a Civil War connection - all awesome. In spite of the age, the room had central A/C that kept the room comfortable even during the 90F days and a jetted bathtub. The only negative we encountered was with the included WIFI. It was too slow to use in the evening (but in the morning it was OK) and no cell service inside the room - probably due to the extreme thickness of the walls. This was an issue for us because in the evening we always review our day, catch up with family, and plan our next day. We enjoyed our stay nonetheless, and appreciated the slow pace and tranquility.

No staff on property...guests let themselves in and out. Stairs a bit tricky and floor in room slanted unexpectedly in several places (part of the historic interest but caught this 68 year old off guard a time or two). Charming decor. Clean. But wing chair impossible to sit in as bottom collapsed so far...need a place to sit in order to enjoy the charm.
