  • Summary:

    Surrounded by a canopy of trees and boasting lovely ocean views from the deck, this charming Gig Harbor cabin has it all! Fire up the provided gas grill to host a sweet summer barbecue, explore the property's trails, or head into town where you can grab a bite to eat, play some golf, or take peaceful walks around Sehmel Homestead Park. Additional attractions nearby include the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Fort Nisqually Living History Museum, and Pantages Theater.



    The Space:

    Freshly remodeled and cozy, the interior of the cabin radiates warmth. The sunny living room is a place of pure peace with its comfortable seating, large TV, and marvelous outdoor views. The adjacent well-appointed kitchen gleams with its old-school fridge and ample meal prep space. When mealtime rolls around, dine at the lovely dining table, or eat alfresco on the deck. Also in the kitchen, appreciate having access to a private washer/dryer.



    Follow the effortless nautical decor into the bedroom. Lined with high-quality linens and mementos to Washington living, sleep is sure to come effortlessly in this space.



    As the stars begin to make their appearance in the night sky, head back outside and gather around the firepit for s'mores. All of the components of the perfect wilderness retreat are here - all there's left to do is book!

Great view of Rainier

We greatly enjoyed our stay and the view of Rainier down by the beach was fantastic. The cabin is very close to Fox Island, Gig Harbor, and the Narrows bridge for quick access to Tacoma.

Heaven in gig harbor

It was a nice experience to sit on the porch have a nice cold beer. Listen to the birds, the wind going through the trees so refreshing I recommend this place to anybody that I just want to relax and chill.

Very nice accommodations, albeit compact. Host was very helpful and responsive. Walk to the beach was a little longer than expected but the walks along the beach alone, or with our 7 and 3 year old grandchildren definitely made it worth it. A little cumbersome using a long code as a key but not overwhelming (be sure to carry the code for the first few days at least). Nice touch including hiking suggestions and local info in the welcome book. We would return.

Very nice cabin with a path down to the water. The cabin is well-equipped. We were there for a week and it was convenient to prepare our meals there and also do laundry. We enjoyed the deer we saw every day and the garden was beautiful. We will definitely stay here aga when we are in the area.

Nice quiet little place to stay and unwind, with the beach a short walk away down an enchanting boardwalk through the woods along a babbling brook. Straight out of a storybook.

Clean, quiet, serene

Beautiful little cabin tucked away in the woods. Although it is in a neighborhood, it has lots of privacy and the view is wonderful. The house was spotless, and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed the coffee and equipped kitchen as well. Would definitely stay there again!

Was a great place to stay, check in was a bit confusing though because there are two buildings on the property and the address provided is not the rental unit. The provided address takes you to the non-rental, which also has a name (Calamity cottage) similar to the rental (Calamity cabin). Once we got that figured out it went well. Great view of Rainier from down on the beach. The trail down to the waterfront appears to be going into the neighbors yard, but it isn't. There is a sign for the trail, but it was just covered in ivy.

As Peaceful As It Gets

The house was amazing. You could see the Sound from the front windows and just a short walk down the trail and you are there. The small garden was very nice and accessible. I was working throughout the week but my wife loved every minute we had there. Any time we return to the area we will be staying here if it's available.

Peaceful & Relaxing Cabin!!

The cabin was perfect for my visit to my hometown Gig Harbor WA..The cabin had everything- a cozy fireplace, super comfortable furniture & bed, and an awesome view of the Puget Sound from the living room. The short beach trail had incredible giant trees , a creek with a little bridge , and a beautiful green lush forest. The beach views were absolutely spectacular! I had the best stay!!Will for sure return for my future trips to the harbor.

Private, Peaceful Refuge

My husband and I spent two nights in this lovely little cottage. The view of the water (and easy access to the beach) was so nice. The furniture and amenities in the cottage were very nice: tasteful and pretty. The cottage is close to state parks, Gig Harbor, and Tacoma (Point Defiance Park was a special treat!). It was a perfect balance of convenient location, while also feeling secluded, private, and peaceful. Thank you!

Restorative Stay

Lovely stay at a well-decorated cabin. Beautiful view from the front deck of the Sound. Peaceful (mostly except for the occasional carpenters working on a nearby home). Overall, you won't regret choosing this rental! Please think about supplying a box of tissues for the cabin...thx!
