Absolutely Beautiful & Relaxing

I had a wonderful stay here with my family! The property was incredibly peaceful, surrounded by beautiful nature, making it the perfect escape for Thanksgiving. The host was amazing- she was very responsive, helpful and genuinely sweet…Thanks for sharing your home - I would definitely come back!!!

Great Place for Large Families

We arrived to beautiful views and a clean, well stocked cabin. It was decorated beautifully for the holiday. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of supplies/amenities available for larger families. Our group of 14 had plenty of space to spread out, relax, dine, etc. Nightly deer sightings were an added bonus. I would highly recommend this property.

Excellent location

The cabin was perfect. We had plenty of room inside and out for our large group of family and friends. Perfect for kids and adults of all ages. Very cozy! The cabin was very well stocked with everything you need including beach towels. The view from the deck was beautiful!!

Perfect home away from home for large family!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here for a week. There were 11 of us, but could have comfortably housed several more. The children loved having access to the river, lots of room to run off energy, and watching the deer each evening. We had a very busy schedule while we were there, but I would have been happy to actually spend more time at the cabin as it is such a peaceful place. Should we return to the area, we will definitely stay here again.

3rd Year in a Row!

We are so in love with this place. It is just right for our big family. Close to a river run-off that is perfect for the grandkids to play in. Lots of room, even a loft room away from the littles for the teenagers.

Great Getaway

Everything was perfect for our family of 16 to gather for the Thanksgiving holiday. The home was set up nicely for large groups. Location was great too. Really close to town but seems like nothing is around you while at the home. We'll be back for sure.

We had fun. Great location and river. The only negatives - we were given wrong code for gate - a stranger had to tell us how to get in. The Keurig does not work and the flies were horrible on the porch and in the house. The kids had a great time floating the river.

Great stay on the Caddo

Our family loves the Caddo River! We come from Waco to enjoy it every year for the past 4 years. It is a lot more family friendly than the Guadalupe or Frio River that we used to enjoy before having kids. We enjoyed our stay at the Highlife overall. Here were our pros/cons. Pros: Location, location, location!! Direct access to the river is a must and this was such a good area!! The host has been very friendly and helpful. Bright living/dining/ kitchen area with great views. Price at time of booking was a great deal. Cons: The ice machine does not work. We all tried figuring it out, but unfortunately we just must not be savvy enough to figure it out. We also couldn’t figure out the outdoor speakers on the porch. The fridge was having a hard time keeping up and didn’t keep our food very cool. The middle toilet bubbles up when another restroom toilet gets flushed…. Think bidet effects. All in all, we had a great stay and hope to be back on the Caddo summer 2025!

Family Christmas

We really enjoyed our stay. The property location is perfect the size could not have been more perfect than this. The only issue we have was we tried to book this with our original booking and once booked realized we needed another day. We checked the listing and seen it was available so we reached out and asked if we could extend the stay by one night and could they pls send us the new charges for the extra night so we could pay it right away. We never received any communication back at all so we waited until the last date to cancel and cancelled our booking then turned around and booked it for the 3 days needed. We never heard anything until 2 weeks before our actual stay. The day of check-in we did reach out to confirm the gate code so we would have no issues and again no response. Once arriving the code failed to work for the gate, we contacted again no response we tried calling thru the app no response we finally found the number online and called that's when we received the correct gate code. We mssged once after our first day to let them know we loved the place no complaints just wanted them to be aware that the microwave does not work. They said they would get it replaced. I guess if we would have read the online reviews, we would have seen the microwave was out of commission along with the ice machine. With our large group was not easy without either but we managed and still loved the stay in this lovely home on the river. Would love to stay again, The McGrew's

Great river house

This is a great river house that is perfect for a large group. Plenty of beds for everyone, plenty of outdoor seating, and a large living area. Will definitely be staying here again!
