“We had a brief single night stop over at Hotel Dolorea. Booked through Expedia, which seemed to cause some confusion for the staff upon arrival but after some investigation by the staff our booking was found. We booked a shared room for a family of four. Room was air conditioned which was a welcome relieve from the near 40C outside. Room was spacious with a very generous sized bathroom, beds were comfy and water was in the mini fridge. There was no kettle in the room. Room/hotel were……

“Todo muy limpio y en perfecto estado, el dueño super amable y muy servicial. El desayuno de dulces caseros y muy bien presentado. Las camas cómodas que creo que es muy importante. Para los que viajan en vehículo eléctrico hay dos cargadores de 22kw gratis a unos 500mts en la casa del jubilado.”

“Personnel au top ! Les chambres sont très propres. J’aime beaucoup la couleur des chambres. Il y à seulement l’isolation phonique qui n’est pas super mais ça reste un hôtel calme. Hôtel idéal pour découvrir la région et faire un petit footing le matin.”

“Yo fui con 4 niños y se han dado la divertida de su vida. De todo el viaje a Europa, es lo que mas les ha gustado. Eneko nos ha explicado lo que es ser pastor y el proceso del queso Idiazabal con detalle y detenimiento. Producen el mejor queso idiazabal que hemos probado en un proceso 100% artesanal. Es un Baserri que lleva en la familia Goiburu 200 años. Ha sido una experiencia inolvidable que sin duda repetiremos!”

“Pros: Surroundings (green, nature) is lovely. Super friendly host. Big house, the upper house is all yours which is very big! Big kitchen, well supplied. Very clean. Animals all over, for the kids (and me!) really amazing. A path through the woods to get there, which made it even more special. Comfortable stay. Good WiFi. So much peacefulness everywhere, we really enjoyed it. Stayed there for 2 nights, this could easily have been 4 :)”

“For the most expensive hotel on my trip it was a little disappointing. The staff are friendly, and it certainly has a nice slick designer feel. The room was small and looked great. Practically though there was no space for unpacking bags or even putting out your wash kit in the bathroom. The radiator and mirror were falling apart. It had terrible coffee sachets and a kettle that you couldn’t plug in without climbing under a table. (Every other hotel i’ve stayed at had a Nespresso machine, which……
