“After the hustle and bustle of the city, Chapel of Barras was just what the Dr. ordered. I’m traveling for pleasure, but also to finish a book I’ve been putting off, and this was a perfect stop. It was peaceful, quiet, perfect for my early morning yoga—followed by a delightful and filling homemade breakfast—a couple hours walking, then plenty of uninterrupted time to put pen to paper. “What a great host Angela was. We felt welcomed from the time we arrived. Our room was very clean and everything that was promised. The cliff trail was stunning and most needed after a long drive. The only issue I had was a lack of hot water when I showered. However, after breakfast it was fine.”

“Had a lovely stay here. Room was sufficient, bathroom was clean. Bed was comfy. It's in a great location. 15 mins from train station. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was a cold buffet, cereals, toast, yogurt, pasties anc coffees, teas, orange juice. Great, would stay here again.”

“We stayed 2 nights and paid £114 per night for bed and breakfast in a Heritage room called Irvine. The soundproofing in the room was shocking with a loud humming noise coming from behind our bed and the noise of doors slamming and guests talking. When I reported this to receptionist she acknowledged that the humming noise was from the room next door’s plumbing. I was not offered a different room. We were visited by both a spider and cockroach in the bathroom. I would therefore strongly recommend……

“Really lovely locally owned and run hotel. Our kingsize upgraded room was stunning, and massive. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The homemade shortbread in the room was incredible, and they even refilled it when we scoffed it all! Breakfast was tasty, and the hot food was made to order.
