"A very nice pub with beautiful accommodation, we were upgraded. However this is our 2nd visit and both times we felt the pub lacked atmosphere. It was freezing on Saturday when we arrived but the log fire was not lit, just the gas effect log fire which did not give much heat. We quite often stay in this area but although the staff were lovely and the room very cosy and warm for me its about atmosphere as I don't want to sit in an empty pub all night - sorry :-( but it would not be my first...

I had booked a double room for myself: the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and the refreshments were topped up during a daily room...
