If you are thinking of stopping one night on your way somewhere stay two nights . Wonderful scenery , trails, horseback riding spa and lake .
Food is great and people friendly
Amazing spot to disconnect and enjoy nature. The grounds are beautiful. Full of nature, animals, and all the fun sights and sounds you would expect. It is quite remote, so expect at least an hour drive from Kokstad. But the Flitwick team were very accommodating and made the stay a wonderful vacation.
This was way better than we expected! We stayed for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms are beautiful, the whole ranch is so beautifully decorated and well thought through. The food was incredible! (You do have to pre-order, they accommodated us for dinner within a few hours which was great!). Everyone there was so welcoming, the service was incredible!
There’s a spa and lots of activities the whole family.
We would definitely be back!
The place is exotic. For instance, while leaving on the 7km driveway we saw two black footed African Cats!
The room was funky cool! The restaurant was fantastic. In fact, if the Spinach Soup is on the menu, order it!!!!
What a charming place— hard to get to but well worth the effort!
Great place to stay - we rwally enjoyed our visit. Super friendly and laid back, and very helpful. The room was well supplied and clean. The grounds are beautiful and the food in the deli delicious. Very good value and would recommend.
A lovely quaint place to be one with nature. The host provides excellent service and was very patiant in waiting for me to get to the place. As, I had been running late driving from DBN. Just ensure you contact the host for directions to the place before setting off. Will definately stay again if I am in the Kokstad area.
Very beautiful place; very friendly people; great food.
Everything was perfect except that to access the property, it is necessary to cross a river. When I arrived, it was about a metre high so ok but after a heavy thunderstorm, it was totally impassable and completely in flood the next day. The owners towed my car out but it was very dangerous. I would recommend that they put in a proper bridge.
What an absolute hidden gem this boutique guest lodge is!! My wife and I were literally blown away with the place. The rooms appear rustic, being constructed of stone, but the interiors, fittings, beds and linen are truly 5-star and real value for money - don't be fooled by the inexpensive rates!
We chose to eat at the Deli in the evening and Jurie cooked us a fantastic meal pre-selected before arrival from a menu he sent. It was truly home from home.
The square kilometer of gardens immediately surrounding the rooms are immaculately kept, with beautiful flower gardens and pagodas set in the several small lakes in the area - an ideal area to relax with a bottle of wine (which you will need to bring along as they are not licensed).
They offer breakfast and various outdoor activities, neither of which we sampled due to time constraints, but I've heard from other travelers that the horse riding, trail running and other activities are really good, and I can believe it!
There is a dirt road accessing the guest lodge which is of a superb quality - we arrived in our landrover, but would have no qualms about traveling it in our low-slung sportscar, albeit at a slower pace.
All in all, we will definitely be back with friends to this spectacular getaway. Having stayed at 13 establishments around the country over the last month's road trip, this is one of two establishments I will unreservedly recommend :).
Even though we has some mishap with the booking agent, the service received from Jurie and his team was unbelievably excellent. With-in minutes the room was ready and I settled in.
I will definitely recommend Flitwick Ranch to anyone looking to relax and receive service with a smile.
