Elk Ridge Cabin is a spacious and welcoming retreat nestled in peaceful Southwest Virginia. Once our cherished family gathering spot, this cabin was lovingly transformed into a retreat after the kids grew up, offering a perfect getaway for your family or group. Ideal for ATV enthusiasts, the cabin provides easy access to the Spearhead Trail System (Coal Canyon) via a 5-minute ATV ride on our private trail. After an exciting day of trail riding, Elk Ridge Cabin serves as the perfect place to relax and unwind with adequate space for everyone. Whether you're planning a short stay or a week-long adventure, Elk Ridge promises comfort, convenience, and an unforgettable outdoor experience!
Elk Ridge offers 4 bedrooms and 1 bath and has all the essentials for your stay. There are 2 bedrooms on the bottom floor and 2 bedrooms on the top floor. Please note, the bedrooms do not have doors, but each have a curtain for your privacy. There is an additional sitting area at the top of the stairs which is an open space. This area also contains a twin bed in case additional sleeping arrangements are needed. WIFI is available and the TV is equipped with ROKU. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, cook ware, eating and cooking utensils, a slow-cooker, and a drip coffee maker.
**Also note, bed linens are provided, but please bring your own towels.

Elk Fest visit

We were visiting the area specifically for Elk Fest and this property was a perfect location for that. In today's age internet is a must and it worked perfectly for such a remote location. We would stay here again if we are back in the area.

They have a nice place and trail access was nice. The only issue is we are from out of state and weren't told till the night before we needed bath towels even though it states linens included. We had to go out a buy bath towels.

Cabin is just as advertised. Very good location for trail riding. Lose enough to Grundy for convenient supply runs on an ATV. Great communication and hospitality with cabin owner!

The property is about 15 minutes from Grundy, but the peace and quiet feels like it's far more remote. Owners were fully available and clearly take great pride in their property - everything is clean and beautiful!

Hidden Gem

Very cute cabin that is in a great location for access to Spearhead trails. Very clean, well kept, and amenities were excellent. I can't say enough about Mr. David. He is a fantastic host, making sure we had everything we needed. He showed us around the property and gave us a guided tour to the trails the day we arrived. A lifelong resident of the area, I could have talked with him for hours on topics of local history, wildlife viewing, and the trails. We will definitely come back!

Great Cabin and super convenient for trail riders!

We had a great stay at Elk Ridge Cabin. When we arrived the owner came up and introduced himself, was very friendly, and showed us how to access the trails straight from the cabin. There is plenty of room for everyone and plenty of beds for a large family. The cabin was beautiful. We enjoyed that the kitchen was stocked with utensils/equipment so we could cook our own meals at the cabin. We enjoyed sitting outside by the fire at night and just enjoying family time. Will definitely be staying again in the future!!!!

Great location to elk viewing area. Cabin was in excellent shape and well taken care of. Host David met us after we arrived and took great care of us. The fire ring was very relaxing during the evenings. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to get away from the rat race.

Awesome Cabin!

Great cabin! Owners were great! Especially Billy’s Dad. He took the time to drive me up and show me the private entrance to the trail system and he checked on us each day. Very friendly! We really enjoyed our stay. We had the trails to ourselves all weekend. Saw maybe 4 others out on the trails all weekend trails were challenging but fun. We hope they expand Coal Canyon and put more trails in. If you’re tired of the sometimes overcrowded Hatfield McCoy trails try Spearhead- Coal Canyon!
