Stayed in this hotel 4 nights. Was caught off guard that there are smoking rooms; I thought that was banned decades ago. My poolside room didn’t reek of smoke but I did catch whiffs of cigarette smoke while in common areas. not enough to be covered in the smell. The other thing that caught me off guard was that the rooms are accessible from the outside like a motel. Didn’t expect this at a best western… guess I should have looked at the pictures closer. The rooms have been recently updated but housekeeping was lacking. There were several stray hairs on the bathroom floor as well as a couple of used towels that were not gathered during turning over the room… makes me wonder how much cleaning goes on. Room was a little damp but not excessive. Breakfast was great, hot food including bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, etc. Only big complaint was the noise in the hotel. Even after the pool supposedly closed, there were still several kids hooting and hollering in the courtyard until late, with a surprise ding-ding ditch one night after 11pm, I assume one of the unsupervised kids. Also observed several kids utilizing the pool that didn’t have wrist bans. I didn’t use the pool but I’m sure the unpaid guests contributed to the noise. If you’re looking for a budget friendly option that’s not a complete crime scene, this place will do. If you require some level of quiet in the evening time, find another option. I’m prob done with BW in general, just not my cup of tea.
