We stayed in 4 hotels across Sri Lanka on our trip and this was by far the very best hotel we visited. It is such beautiful accommodation, thoughtfully designed. It's clean, modern, safe and you feeling totally immersed in the forest/jungle. The staff were beyond polite and helpful, always greeting us warmly - especially those in the dining area. The food was some of the best we had in Sri Lanka, very authentic, catered to our needs (gluten free - even with gf bread) and so tasty. We would highly recommend this Taru Villas to anyone visiting. Also well located for Sigiriya (for the rock) and Minneriya Park (for the elephants). Thank you!

We felt instantly relaxed and welcomed upon arrival. The grounds and pool are beautiful. Room was spacious and immaculate, we loved the variety of loose leaf teas in our room and delicious homemade biscuits that were replenished. The staff were the most attentive in our whole time in Sri Lanka. Things like coming with umbrellas on arrival to our car so we didn’t get wet, guiding us with a light to and from the dining area to our room each night, speaking to us about our travels and offering to be of service anytime we needed to enjoy our stay. Food was good, particularly the Sri Lankan dishes. Wine cannot be bought by the glass but if you get a bottle they will keep for the next night if unfinished which is a nice touch. We had such a great time on the couple of tours that we booked through the hotel. Highly recommend this boutique to unwind from busy activities during the day, it has a lovely private and boutique atmosphere. We would stay again.

Although our overall rating is good and individual people were really motivated to take good care, we somehow missed the Sri Lankan authenticity. Food was mediocre, really not what I expect from a five star hotel. Management should be more interconnected. We recognized some issues: We booked additional nights via a different platform. I informed people before our arrival and at arrival about it so that we do not have to change room. However, at the end of our first booking, we did not receive room service anymore and were asked for late checkout payment in the afternoon because we were still staying in the room. I had to explain several times that I made another reservation for the following night. Only with recurring request, we received the services that were booked. To summarize, people individual‘s effort was amazing, but their integration into a well managed service body was lacking from our observation. Rooms are really the highlight in this hotel. Clean and beautiful. The hotel property is located in an areal of untouched „farmland“. It is beautiful of course, but I would expect a more maintained property from a five star hotel…

Eine absolute Idylle im Dschungel mit exzellentem Service auf höchstem Niveau. Wir können dieses Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Das Hotel verfügt tatsächlich nur über 10 Zimmer (in drei unterschiedlichen Kategorien). Das Personal ist außergewöhnlich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Nach einer Woche hatten wir das Gefühl, dazuzugehören. Die Küche ist erstklassig – die Köche zaubern alles, was das Herz begehrt. Die gesamte Anlage ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Wenn ihr eine ruhige Unterkunft sucht, in der ihr euch entspannen könnt (auch abseits anderer Gäste), seid ihr hier genau richtig. Dieses Hotel ist jeden Cent wert, und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Herzlichen Dank an das gesamte Team!

Un posto magico, dove ogni dettaglio è curato nei minimi particolari. Un luogo dove gusto, design e natura si fondono armoniosamente restituendo eleganza ed esclusività. Staff estremamente gentile e professionale. La nostra camera era molto grande con bagno parzialmente esterno e un grande patio. Meravigliosa la piscina immersa nella vegetazione tropicale. Stunning place, must-do in Sri Lanka

We absolutely loved our stay at Taru Villa. The place is stunning, the rooms are decorated with taste and attention to detail, and the hotel overall is truly splendid and perfectly human-sized. The restaurant is delicious with a very talented chef — special mention to the Sri Lankan breakfast, which was as generous as it was tasty. The staff is extremely attentive and lovely. I therefore highly recommend this hotel, which for me is one of the best in Sri Lanka. The only small point is that it would be more transparent to specify the taxes to be added to the services, particularly for the spa treatments, which are not negligible!

The nicest hotel in many ways

Nice beds, wonderful architecture and large in the house/rooms. The most beautiful room we had on Sri Lanka. The food was amazing, we can really recommend this. The best ever tuna steak and a lot more. We spend 4 wonderful nights at Taru Villa Habarana. Nice pool as well. They have it all! So much to see in the surroundings. We can really recommend this hotel!!
