Peaceful retreat

All the 5 star reviews got it right! Wonderfully peaceful and the ideal location to explore the North Shoe, Paia, road to Hana etc. Just the re-charge we were hoping to get when we booked our stay. Quiet cottage surrounded by flora, swaying palms, etc. Loved our time, when we return to Maui we hope the Oswald’s are still renting, fantastic hosts!

Serenity and privacy in a beautiful place

Palm Cottage is perfect for an adult couple who value privacy and beautiful surroundings. It’s a country place, but not remote; local towns, the beach and the Haleakala summit are all reasonably close and gorgeous. Hosts have it well stocked and communicate effectively but not intrusively. Great stay!

Perfectly Maui

This was the perfect location to experience the beauty of Maui and kick off our drive on the road to Hana. The place is cozy and somewhat secluded. It was as described/pictured. Definitely will stay here again!

Perfect location

This house provided the perfect location for driving the road to Hana and making the trip to the top of Haleakala. We enjoyed pizza at Jaws (walkable), breakfast from Baked on Maui (in Haiku),Aloha 'Aina BBQ (food truck nearby), and the breakfast treats and snacks provided by the host. It was an easy drive from the airport too.

Quiet, relaxing, and well priced. My family greatly enjoyed our stay. Robert and Stephanie do an excellent job maintaining the property and making guests feel welcome. We loved the location close to the Hana Highway and other Maui attractions such as the upcountry, Haleakala, and the central valley. The cottage was quite spacious and had all the basic kitchen amenities. Highly recommend.

Beautiful property in a nice quiet location away from the crowds. Nice location to get a head start on your drive on the Hana Highway. Clean and very well thought out design with everything you need provided. Super help and communication from the owners who are wonderful hosts! Mahalo for a wonderful visit!

Peaceful, beautiful property!

This was a great stay for us. Very quiet, peaceful property surrounded by lush vegetation and a view of the ocean. Comfortable seating and beds, and very clean. It was so nice to have a welcome package of coffee beans and snacks! Owners communicated flawlessly and were super helpful when we needed them. Really appreciated having beach equipment available, too. We will be back!

Grad Student BDay weekend retreat

Wonderfully comfortable living cottage, with everything you would need! Just bring yourself and some food. Host is "thoughtfully in touch with you" and seems to have thought of everything you would need. Very private. Nearby shops and eateries. Best kept secret.

GREAT COTTAGE NEAR BEGINNING OF "ROAD TO HANA"

WONDERFUL PROPERTY. VERY CLEAN AND QUIET. WELL-STOCKED WITH KITCHEN EQUIPMENT AND NICE VARIETY OF SNACKS, ETC., INCLUDING COFFEE BEANS AND ALMOND MILK. A/C NOT NEEDED DURING OUR STAY. A SHORT DRIVE TO RESTAURANTS AND GROCERIES. YOU CAN WALK TO "JAWS MARKET" FOR BREAKFAST! DEFINATELY WOULD STAY AGAIN! GREAT WINTER BREAK FOR A COUPLE OF AKRONITES.

Great North Shore location!

You can tell Robert and Stephanie take great pride in their VRBO and make sure their guests have a positive experience. This cottage is in a nice quiet neighborhood in Haiku with pretty landscaping and fruit trees abound. We enjoyed the lychee and grapefruit during our time. The kitchen is well stocked for any needs and they also leave some breakfast and snack items with coffee upon arrival. It’s a perfect home base to go exploring all the things to do on Maui, especially with The Road to Hana. There are air conditioning units in the bedrooms which are helpful on the hotter days. Otherwise there is a nice breeze that comes through windows and doors. We have stayed in other areas of Maui but feel a stay here provides a nice laid back experience from the hustle and bustle of the more tourist places. We also have a different perspective given our daughter lives in the area. You can’t go wrong staying at this nice cottage tucked into the beauty of Haiku.

Palm Cottage is an absolute gem! It’s wonderfully quiet and peaceful, tucked away from all the rush and busyness of the big resort areas, yet still close to everything Maui has to offer. The location makes it easy to enjoy the island’s amazing beaches, activities, and sights, while giving you the perfect retreat to relax and recharge at the end of the day. If you’re looking for comfort, serenity, and a spot that feels like your own private hideaway but with quick access to all the best of Maui, this is the place. Highly recommend!

A nice, quiet place to stay that had everything we needed. Check-in and check-out was easy. Enjoyed the small towns around the area, such as Paia and Makawao. Jaws just down the hill was a great place for coffee, various food, and wood fired pizza.

We really enjoyed are stay here. It's very easy to find and very clean. We also appreciated the breakfast munchies. The location is walkable to a great breakfast spot (even lunch or dinner) and is very quiet. We really enjoyed just having morning coffee/tea with the sounds of the birds around the property.
