"The Owner was very obliging, as due to CHC being booked out & a midnight flight arrival, we knew if would be a 3am arrival. He kindly left the unit unlocked for us. While the place is showing it's age & use, it was clean & tidy, the shower was great, the sheets were clean & the beds comfy. We slept well. Would I use Larchwood Motels again? Without hesitation. It's value for money indeed. I have to say, I enjoyed teh chat with the owner teh next morning. A cheerful & kind man."

Snowed Sat nigh so we had some frosty mornings but beautiful clear days with that bright Autumn sun shining through the trees showing up the golds and browns of the leaves. Lovely warm and cosey cottage to come back to each day."

"No heating in the room. Two heaters in the room and neither worked. Heated towel rack didn’t work. Took a few minutes if running the hot water before any warm water came through. There were cups, sugar and a kettle in the room but no tea bags or coffee. Walking through the hotel from our room to the breakfast area the hotel was freezing. The Hanmer Springs Hotel is not a hotel I will ever recommend. "
