The Blue Door Cottage is a wonderful get-a-way. The guesthouse is warm and inviting. The grounds are beautiful. The pictures on the site are on point. Our family enjoyed walking to see the neighbors' alpaca and horses. Would definitely recommend.

We loved staying at the Blue Door Guesthouse! Greg and Linda were wonderful hosts! Our daughter had the best time playing with their sweet Alpacas ( the girls) The location is excellent, only 10 minutes from restaurants and shopping but is in peaceful, beautiful setting. We had a great stay and will definitely be back again!

Paradise in the middle of Hickory

Outstanding decor inside all amenities included and a serene outdoor space with lovely tropical plants and plenty of choices for spending your time reading poolside or enjoying your coffee listening to the birds. The owners thought of everything. One of the best VRBO i have stayed at in 15 years.

Exceeded expectations

This beautiful property was perfect for what we needed. Our son had a soccer tournament in Hickory with spaced out game times, rescheduled games due to weather, etc. The Blue Door Guesthouse was our comfortable oasis to relax and enjoy family time. The pool was great, even in May! The hosts are top knotch. Highly recommend!

Great location minus hurricane

The property is lovely--we had everything we needed. The pool is beautiful as well. The owner allowed us to have extended family over for dinner which was much appreciated. Unfortunately, the Hurricane knocked out power and phones were not working so hard to communicate. But we were safe at the house. I would stay again as the space is lovely.

AMAZING

I have so much to say but I’ll try to condense it as much as possible. First of everything is super clean. The pool was perfect and the beds were super comfy. Family and I keep our home super cold so it worked out great. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Simba was a nice surprise as well, the kids loved him!

A Beautiful Experience

We loved everything about our stay here. The place was even more beautiful than the pictures. It was decorated with wonderful attention to color, and it was perfectly clean. The kitchen was lovely and easy to use (and thoughtfully stocked with plates, silverware, cooking utensils, paper towels, etc. We had no issues during our stay, but the hosts were great. They were friendly and helpful, and they responded to our messages quickly. My wife and I are already planning to return. We couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. Thank you!

Wonderful property!!

My sisters and I attended a wedding in the area and pick this place to stay. Looked great in the listings and surpassed our expectations. House was totally equipped with everything you could imagine. Beds were marvelous. Kitchen was super- we did prepare breakfast every morning, sometimes other meals as well. Location was wonderful. Wish we would have been there during summer as the outdoor pool looks extremely inviting for summer temperatures. Beautiful Cardinals ate at the birdfeeder every morning! Such fun. Big thanks to our wonderful hosts. Would definitely reccomend this property.

It has it all!

This basement apartment was abolutely perfect for our small group for a four day trip to Hickory while our granddaughters sweated it out at Lenoir-Rhyne University's soccer camp. From being able to feed them breakfast at the kitchen bar to having the ability to pack lunches for them in the kitchen, we made use of all the offerings we couldn't have gotten in a hotel. The girls made it through soccer camp each day to enjoy a cool-off in the beautiful pool and then showered in the deluxe shower here. The two girls especially liked the toiletries provided in the bathroom. Check in was so easy, and except for the weirdly confusing street numbering throughout Hickory, the country setting was peaceful and relaxing. We are thoroughly sold on this location for a return visit.
