Great location but could use an update

We loved the location of this house but felt as though it could use an update. The furniture on the front porch was rusted and unstable. The inside of the house needs a deep clean, there were some cob webs in the window frames. The bedding and towels were clean. We loved the view from the living room front windows and the walk to the beach was easy.

Fabulous time in Hilton Head

The house is in a great location, close to the beach, quiet neighborhood, and easy access to Coligny Plaza that has excellent food choices. The spacious kitchen and family room allowed us to enjoy time with family. The experience would be better if the fenced in yard went to ground level. We had to keep our dog on a leash in the fenced yard. Also, we encountered two cockroaches thus making sure our food was kept in sealed containers.

Excellent location!!

House and pool were great. 4 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute bike ride to Coligny. We had 8 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of space for everyone. Highly recommend for fun family get together spot.

Christmas Trip with Family and Pet

We took a last minute trip to Hilton Head for Christmas break with the kids. The house was exactly what we had expected and had plenty of room for our 6 people. The location was great. Close enough to the shops that the kids could ride their bikes there and also to the beach. Easy walk to the beach. Wish the weather was a little warmer but we really enjoyed the trip. Thanks!

Very nice home with lots of room for our large group. It was in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. There was plenty of room to park our four cars. We would recommend this home to future guests. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your home.

Vacation

House was very clean, plenty of space. Very convenient location, quick walk to the beach or bike ride to Coligny. Pool was wonderful as well. We would absolutely stay here again! Staff was great and quick to answer through text message if we had any questions/concerns.

Great house!

Location was perfect, walking distance to beach and dining. The cleaners are not doing a very good job but we re-washed what we had to and cleaned what we could. Bring your own beach towels as there are none and no chairs to bring to beach. Other than that it was a great place!

A Perfect Spot

So many things to love! The space and furnishings were comfortable and in great condition. The outdoor space including the backyard and pool and the upstairs balcony were great to enjoy the weather. However the location was the best...literally from door to beach was a 2-3 minute walk to optimize soaking up those views and salty goodness.

Perfect location and pool!!!

If you aren’t on the ocean great location perfect walk to beach, close to everything. Pool was excellent before, after or break in middle of day. House adequate and dog enjoyed vacation with family. House well lived in and in need of care soon. Snakes beside pool and under deck, made sure to be first one out to scare them off. The last evening my wife saw one on the deck. Could have been problematic if they had been cited earlier in week.

Fit all our needs

We rented it for our wedding party, and it was perfect. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you would need. The beds were very comfortable, all bedrooms had plenty of space. Overall we were very satisfied, the only recommendation would be to have a little better upkeep on the grounds, also it had a little smell of mildew when we first arrived. Need to include instructions on how to operate the TV's. ( but we were at the beach, so it didn't really matter)

Needs work

Our group of 9 (6 adults and 3 teens) just finished our week at 20 Pelican rd. We have rented a house every year for the last 20 and I have never left a review but I feel this is warranted. I wish we would have the reviews before booking and saved the disappointment. This property needs a major rehab, starting with the subfloors on the first floor are very soft and rotten in the entire eat in area, in the downstairs bathroom due to the shower door not sealing and bedroom. The glass sliding door by the eat in area does not close and seal due to the unlevel floors and allowed flies in all week. There is nothing in front of the outdoor shower to stop slips and falls on the deck, it is in the shade and was slimy with mold and algae causing our 79-year-old father to fall (thankfully he was not hurt badly and only bruised). When we arrived the glass globe on the ceiling fan in down stairs bedroom was shattered. This was reported upon check in and the service tech did come promptly and remove it but no replacement was made. There was black mold in the down stairs bathroom ceiling. The kitchen ceiling fan did not work only the light. Some signage by the pool would have been nice so others would know the depth of the pool which is probably 8-9 feet. The location is good and communication with Vacasa in booking was easy. I feel the owners need to step up their game.

Vacation at 20 Pelican Hilton Head

We had a lovely time, and the house was nicely decorated and clean. There are just a couple of areas for improvement. The house is advertised as having a fenced in yard, but half of the fencing doesn't come close to the ground, leaving at least a foot or more space where our dog could go under the fence. This is a safety concern, and I did notice other people had made the same comment, but nothing was done about the situation. We had a problem with the living room TV, it wouldn't turn on, and Erin was wonderful in correcting the situation. She purchased a new TV and brought it over to set it up.

North Forest Beach

The property was perfect, the PM was not responsive, but finally came the 2nd week to deal with broken TV, bulbs out. My husband cleaned the AC vent which was 3 “ thick with dust. We did quite a bit of cleaning as the house was done with a quick once over and not a deep clean. We did enjoy the area though. It was perfect for our needs.

Hilton head Health unit should inspect 20 pelican road

Beside the cockroach infestation.. other issues were dishwasher sending out brown water…pool light that would not go out… pump for pool broke down which send out sound so hard to go to sleep for 4 days and quest to fix was ignore..house was not clean when we arrive..we had to wash all sheets and towels … vacuum cleaner was plug so we had to fix that o..disposal unit also broke ,,

A return visit wasn’t as good as the first time

We’ve stayed in the house before, and enjoyed it, so we were looking forward to a return. A few things were amiss right away. Dog poop on the deck. A very dirty BBQ that would not start. And outdoor garage containers overflowing because they were not emptied from the last guests. Vacasa was prompt to respond, and said they were horrified at the issues, but slow to respond (days, not hours). The house is in a great location, and provides all the amenities we want for kids and grandkids, but it is looking very tired.

Ok place to stay. Beware of Vacasa Management!! They’ll steal from you!

Being just short walk to the beach was great but that was about it. Old house, that needs some work. Several doors didnt close. Mostly clean and bug free. Major appliances worked. The coffee pots were very gross like they have never been cleaned so we didnt use them. The most infuriating part about our stay was working w/ Vacasa management. When we booked our stay in Feb we asked if we could heat the pool. They said yes & charged me 435. Once we arrive on 5/24 we tested out the pool & it felt cool. We figured it was because it was a cloudy day or they just turned it on for our stay that it hadn’t warmed up yet. We waited it out & it was still cold. I contacted Vacasa and asked if they could have someone come check that the heater was on & that’s when I was told that the owners did not allow the pool to heated after Memorial Day. If I never would have contacted them they would have stolen 435 from me! I asked several times to have a sup call me but never got a call. They said we would be eligible for a FULL refund but they only processed partial. I had to call them and sit on hold for 45 mins to get to a sup & then they finally gave me the remaining refund. They didn’t have a reason why they charged us to begin with. Worst experience ever b/c of that I will NEVER stay at a place that is managed by them. The owners also had a very large package of new furniture delivered that blocked entry during our stay that took 3 people to move. Very inconsiderate and rude for your guest
