Good location, but...

I love staying in this location and have a dozen times over the years. This particular condo has all amenities needed, but it seemed like the cleaning crew might have just walked through with a wet towel and gave most things a courtesy wipe down. When on vacation you don't want to start it by cleaning the toilet and doing dishes. After that though, things went smoothly.

Keep looking for better

This listing through Vacasa was not accurate - it did not have a washer/dryer. We had multiple issues and it was extremely difficult to get help from Vacasa without getting the runaround.Unless you’re extremely strong, it was hard to even get in the door - we had to shove our bodies against it about 75% of the time before it would even open, which also meant we couldn’t leave as soon as our kid was asleep or risk waking them up.Mold was growing in one corner. Whole place just felt dirty. Top bunk would be difficult to use unless you’re tall enough to jump down because of weird placement of ladder rungs. Also since nothing blocks the hallway light, we had to use towels to block the light from someone trying to sleep on bottom bunk. One of the drawers in the only chest of drawers was broken and inaccessible. There are better places even within the Beach and Tennis resort that are much nicer than this - it’s not worth the headache.

Do not recommend

Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere in Hilton Head. We’ve stayed at other condos within the Beach and Tennis resort which were nicer and better maintained. Pros: - We got unexpected early check-in with easy communication through text. - Location to beach and pool Cons: - Actual mold growing in one part of the condo ceiling - The whole place just felt dirty and in need of more than just wiping down surfaces - walls were dirty, the fridge was gross. - The door to the unit was extremely hard to open - after typing in a 10-digit code, we had to slam our bodies into it to get it to open. - The listing through VRBO stated there was a private washer and dryer, this is not the case. - Furniture was broken - there is one chest of drawers in the unit and one drawer was completely broken and unusable. Vacasa was quick to respond through text and phone calls but all they would offer is someone from their team coming to look at it with no time promised. We denied this because we’re on vacation and didn’t want to spend that time waiting on a different cleaner who certainly wouldn’t be fixing furniture or mold or the door immediately unless they were magic, so we opted to stay and see it through for the 5 days we booked for.

Poor Check-in procedure

Easily booked on line, but the check-in process was a fiasco. Went to Vacasa office to check-in, office closed. Got into lock box to get our check in packet but ours was not there. Went back later, still no packet. Figured out condo access & got in without the check in credentials, and got parking pass at HH Beach & Tennis office just by luck. Had no idea we could. Also no wifi password was provided, so we had to call for that. In summary, guess you don’t really need to check in at Vacasa. Waste of time. The whole process was unclear and most likely won’t use Vacasa next time.
