Cleanliness

The place is good cause we needed privacy and away from town, but the place was not clean. In the bathroom the arr spider webs and ant hills under basin. We stayed for 2 days and the linen was not changed, the was dust on the study table and the pedestals. When you drain water from the tub or flash the is a awful smell dont know from where. But the receptionist Melody, she was the best 10/10.

What an amazing place! Beautiful rooms, very handy kitchen, lovely views. We adored the place and loved the braai. Wessel is an intelligent man with great love for this place. 10/10 would recommend.

Tolle Lodge, großes Zimmer (3 Betten, kleine eigene Terasse). Etwas entfernt von der nächsten Stadt, jedoch herrliche Lage am Fluß. Top Service: Für das Abendessen wird nach vorheriger Anmeldung frisch eingekauft und vorbereitet. Bin erst abends eingetroffen. Dennoch wurde ich auf die Frage nach einem Sandwich o.ä. mit enem kompletten Abendmenü (Salat, Steak mit Beilagen und einem Desert) überrascht!

Fiquei decepcionada com a localização do hotel. A propriedade fica a cerca de 30Km da cidade, num local de dificílimo acesso (tivemos que passar por mais de uma porteira..), é no campo mesmo! Mas isso não é informado. Além disso não tem wi-fi (embora constasse que haveria!) e ainda nos cobraram uma multa por chegarmos após as 18h, o que não foi alertado previamente.

Não encontrei no local tudo que foi anunciado no site hotéis.com durante a reserva. O quarta não tinha TV nem Wi-Fi. O Sr condicionado não dava conta de refrigerar todo o ambiente (e fazia muito calor), não havia opção de café-da-manhã nem jantar.

Aunthentic bush hotel right on Olifants River

Our stay at the Bush River Lodge was very authentic and not touristy at all. Beware when booking on Hotels.com, however, as the owner said he was unaware of our arrival and was unable to prepare dinner for us due to his chef not onsite.HOWEVER, he was kind enough to drive us to a nearby restaurant which was awesome! Food was delicious & inexpensive. Rooms were very nice but the bathroom was a bit dated. Overall I would recommend this hotel and you also get to play with "Flippy" the owners adorable & lovable dog who is fluent in three different languages!

Absolut überbewertet

Ich kann die guten Bewertungen leider überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen. Es ging los mit einer nicht vorhandenen Begrüßung durch den Manager. Er war nicht da, als wir kamen, hielt es aber auch nicht für nötig seine Gäste zu begrüßen als er dann da war. Es war niemand da, der uns alles gut und ausführlich erklären konnte. Die Klimaanlage war defekt, es lief Wasser heraus. Dieses ist uns in der Nacht ins Gesicht getropft, da die Klimaanlage über dem Bett hing. Haben wir am Morgen reklamiert, hat aber keinen großartig interessiert. Die Anlage (der pool zum Beispiel) ist ziemlich runtergerockt. Es gibt zwar Frühstück und Dinner auf Nachfrage (wovon man aber auch nichts weiß oder informiert wird). Außerdem ist es für südafrikanische Verhältnisse VIEL zu teuer. 15€ fürs Dinner; 7,50€ fürs Frühstück. Es gibt ums Eck ein Restaurant (Three Bridges), da kann man besser und günstiger frühstücken und Abend essen. Die Angestellten waren unmotiviert, besonders die Dame beim Frühstück. Schrecklich unsympathisch, schlechter Service. Die einzig nette Person war die Köchin Ursula, die uns am ersten Abend vor dem verhungern gerettet hat und spontan das Dinner umorganisiert hat. Vielen Dank dafür!!

Rustic chic

Hosts were welcoming and attentive; the location was great for viewing birds and crocs. A drive out at night garnered us views of a Thick-knee, a scrub hare, and an African Civet. Breakfast on the porch overlooking the river was delicious.

Wunderbare Unterkunft. Wir hatten ein ganzes Haus für uns alleine. Die Ausstattung ist sehr modern und gut gepflegt. Jedes Zimmer hat sein eigenes Bad. Für das Grillieren wurde jeden Tag Holz gebracht.

Betrug -Irreführung

Die Lodge ist über das Navi schwer zu finden, Der Beschreibung nach aber ist es sehr einfach. Wichtig zu wissen ist: von der Hauptstraße ab Zweigen und sind es noch Mals 6 km bis zu der Loitsch. Unsere Unterkunft war sehr sauber und sehr modern. Alles funktionierte einwandfrei. Sie liegt direkt an einem Fluss Und so kann man diesen von jedem Zimmer aussehen. Sehr hübsch ist es in der Badewanne zu liegen und raus zu sehen. Auch die Terrasse ist schön modern bequeme liegen stehen zur Verfügung Warum also die schlechte Bewertung? Wir wurden übers Ohr gehauen. Der Zimmerpreis beinhaltete eigentlich das Frühstück. Auf Anfrage teilte man uns dann jedoch mit dass dies ein Fehler sei. Man wisse zwar schon seit längerem davon, aber irgendwie bleibt man bei dem Angebot in EXPEDIA bei dem das Frühstück inklusive ist. Das ist ein sehr wichtiger Punkt, denn um diese Lodge herum ist im Umkreis von 8 km nichts zu essen zu bekommen. Man muss eine 2 km lange Staubstraße (geht gerade noch ohne 4 × 4) durchfahren, einen Tierschutzzaun selber öffnen und wieder schließen und über eine kleine Flughafen Landebahn fahren um zu einem Restaurant zu kommen. Wer also nicht alles für ein Frühstück mitgenommen hat wird hungrig in den Tag starten. Gleiches gilt auch für das Abendessen. Hier war es jedoch nicht so schlimm, denn wir wussten von diesen Umstand und hatten vorher zu Abend gegessen. für uns ist dies Betrug. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt somit gar nicht.

Beautiful stay on the Oliphants River

Tons of wildlife in the area (monkeys, springbok, kudu, impala, baboons, birds) in a calm and peaceful location. It can be a bit of self service but you have the full kitchen and your own storage and fridge if you book a room. You must let them know the day before if you plan on having breakfast so that they can prepare for you. They have houses available. The internet in the common area works great. Evening fire pits on the deck over the river and an outside grill as well. You have to drive through a couple of other lodge areas off the main road to get to it. Edward(sp?) was great and very helpful.

Wonderful position on the river in the bush

Private bush hide-away surrounded by nature

Beatufiul bush hide-away not accessable to the general public. Large spacious and airy rooms. Surrounded by wildlife. Cotages build on the Olifants river with amazing veiws and sounds. Very clean, excellent service, manager amazing and check in process flawless. Self catering with full use of the excllent facilities in catering kitchen with each unit having it´s own grocery shelf and large fridge. Extremely clean throughout. Needs some maintenance on smaller things. Drain at our room needs serious attention.

Such a Lovely Amazing Play To Stay

Wow! You don't need to stay in Kruger to see amazing animals and pay exorbitant prices. The managers here are absolutely lovely and incredible knowledgeable. Went on an incredible tour with them and saw lots of animals. The room was lovely and clean. Great food too. Yay! Would definitely come back and stay. Really really nice people! Oh, and the river right outside your door is awesome for animal watching!

Wonderful stop over on way to or from Kruger

This property is in close proximity to a campground, Hippo Pools and several other places to stay. It is off the highway and you go through several gates before you arrive.

Awesome Bush River Lodge

The stay at Bushriver Lodge was awesome. We opted for a self catering room so a bit far away from the main lodge. The view from the room to the river was awesome. There was plenty bird lfe and hippos around. However the greatest surprise was when three elephants roamed around for food to the front of our villa. It was just awesome and unprepared as mother nature can make you feel. Wessels and the people who work at Kingfisher are first class and Wessels is an awesome cook to top it off. The only disadvantage is that Kruger Park is quite far away however i did a day trip to KNP and really enjoyed being at BushRiver.I will definitely go back when vacationing in the area.
