Great stay
House has everything you need. We were gone most days from sunrise to sunset. Was nice to get back to a cozy quiet place. If you hit a sunny day take a drive to Hurricane Ridge or Mt Rainier. Also don’t miss Salmon cascades if salmon are running. Well worth the drive. Head down to the lake and watch the sunset to end your day. Joni was quick to respond to any of our questions.

Annual 3 sister trip
Each year the 3 sisters plan a trip. We have traveled in state, out of state and out of the country. This year at Lake Cushman was fabulous. So many hiking opportunities, the lake for paddle boarding and kayaking, the friendliness of the people and the quiet.

Summer vacation 2023
The property is located on a quiet cul de sac in one of the popular subdivisions. It has a beautiful view of the mountains and a partial view of the lake across the street. I enjoyed the view from the deck with my morning coffee. The house is very comfortable, clean and accomodated all of us nicely,(2 grandma's, adult daughter, and another daughter with her partner and 4 year old and 10 month old baby and a small dog) with the master bedroom & bath upstairs, the bedroom on the main level and the full size bed in the basement. The community park is close by with a boat launch and play equipment. We enjoyed a hike at Staircase, which is close by too and the kayaks. The owners were excellent with communication before and during our stay. We really appreciated the gas grill, especially when the power went out for a full day.in the subdivision. The neighbors were friendly and helpful too. We enjoyed watching the deer come through the area too.

Perfect Cabin by the Lake
We absolutely loved our stay on Lake Cushman. The house had everything we needed to cook our own meals, along with kayaks to enjoy. The area is quiet and peaceful. The neighbors were nice enough to move the garage can for us (thaank you!) And we enjoyed seeing the wildlife in the area. Thank you for a lovely stay. We hope to be back again!

Peaceful, relaxing and beautiful place to stay to unwind
Very clean, comfortable beds, nice kitchen and living room room area with all the amenities you need for your family. We really enjoyed the view of the mountain and lake from the deck while enjoying time with our friends and family. We highly recommend this place if you need a get away where you have a chance to enjoy the lake, hiking or to relax and read a good book. We hope to be back soon!

Exactly what we needed
We wanted a relaxing and comfortable home base for some hiking and exploring with two teenage girls and this place had everything we needed. We like to cook for ourselves on vacation and both the kitchen and grill we're great, and we enjoyed the fire pit every night of our stay. Great access to the national park and national forest and beautiful Hood Canal.

Happy!
The property was cozy, perfect for all Fall trip. We loved exploring the neighborhood, and spent many hours at the beautiful lake. It was such a bonus for us that we could easily walk there. The space was clean and everything was set up as advertised. All questions were answered quickly. We recommend arriving during daylight hours as it was hard to find at night. However we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly visit again.

Amazing House Makes for an Amazing Stay!
This house rocks the amenities and location! Everything from great wine openers and lime squeezers (sometimes the little things are BIG) and coffee, to wood for the fire pit, games, a sound bar. Great location and the use of the parking permit is a terrific perk. We loved our stay!

Perfect retreat getaway!
We really enjoyed this updated rental. It was as described and very comfortable for our group. My young adult son and my mother were with my husband and I. Our son enjoyed having the basement to himself. My mom uses a cane and walker and could easily access the rental. The only suggestion is to have the water heater adjusted to accommodate more than two showers with hot water. Joni was very responsive and helpful! Highly recommend staying here!

Perfect!
We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a week (away from the Phoenix heart). This was perfect. The owners think of everything and the house is well maintained. We were greeted with deer in three driveway upon our arrival, and it just got better fromm there. Unbelievable beauty. Best vacation I've had in years.

Our family had such a great time at this lovely lake house. Close to hiking and 2 beaches that we used to launch our paddle boats from. Local deer joined me for my morning coffee each day while I enjoyed my view of the lake. Thank you Joni for sharing your home with us. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect Lake Get Away!
We loved our stay at Lake Cushman! This is by far our favorite property for our family to rent here at the lake. Clean home, fully stocked kitchen, great location, the hosts were quick to respond to any questions and many more pros. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

A Real Retreat
Loved the easy access doorknob code, outdoor seating areas, WiFi access, quick walk to the lakeshore park, and plenty of blankets. Didn’t enjoy the driving distance to convenience (20 min) store and grocery stores (45) or the gasoline tinged scent in the ground floor bedroom.

Thank you for the feedback. This is the first time we've heard about a gas scent on the ground floor, and we are checking into it. Yes, our home is located in the beautiful Olympic Mountains which is about a 12-mile drive into Hoodsport; a small town that has a grocery store, gas station, hardware store, restaurants and other amenities. Spring Break at Cushman
The house was very clean and comfortable. The house had many kitchen staples which I appreciated. The owners were very attentive and answered questions in a timely manner. Wonderful Retreat by a Beautiful Lake
Very comfortable home, just a wonderful place to stay. We spent one day hiking in the Olympic National Park, then one day just wandering down to lake and back, hanging out, using the BBQ, etc.

Spring break 2022
We had a wonderful time at this cozy and well equipped cabin. The kitchen is very well stocked. The beds and bed linens are comfortable. There is good WiFi and a smart TV, games, foosball, books. The lake was a little cold to enjoy very much but it was beautiful. We would love to visit again in the summer. The town of hoodsport is 20 minutes away and has a couple of restaurants, and a grocery store.

Our little crew had such a great time at Lake Cushman. The house is a great location with proximity to a wonderful park and lake front. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Perfect getaway for our family
We had an early family thanksgiving at this wonderful home and it was perfect. The house itself is perfect…it’s very clean, so well equipped and everything is very well thought out. We had our adult boys and their partners all join us here for a weekend of family fun and our thanksgiving dinner. we were all thrilled with the accommodations and loved the area for walks and the scenery. Definitely would come again. We loved it. The setting itself is wonderful and the home was a great layout for three couples. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Nice private feel
Even though it is located in a neighborhood which is part of a lakeside development, it feels secluded. It is very relaxing to sit on the back deck and enjoy use of the grill. What we enjoyed most was the (almost) lack of fireworks. There were a few loud ones set off nearby even though they are prohibited in the development. It was still much quieter than it would have been at home which our dog was thankful for.

Overwhelmingly beautiful
Generally speaking we are undwerwelmed by our VRBO stays. The photos seems to be better than reality. In this case, the opposite was true. We were absolutely stunned by both the home and it’s surroundings. It is the best VRBO stay we have ever had and the location is perfect—walking distance to gorgeous, clear watered Lake Cushman and a short drive to amazing hiking trails in Olympic National Forest and Park.

Mother’s Day reunion with son
What a beautiful place. The location is perfect, the house is very comfortable, and Joni and Bryan are generous and helpful hosts. My partner and I spent time with my adult son, who lives in Seattle, for the first time since October 2019. It was a wonderful way to reconnect. I hope we can come back. Highly recommended.

Thanks for this peaceful retreat!
Everything was simple with quick responses to questions prior to booking. The house was fabulous and the kids really enjoyed the kayaks and firepit. We are looking forward to an opportunity to return. Like many others have said, they really have equipped this place and you don't have to being much except food/drink. It's a good location for nature lovers! This was a much needed change of scenery for all of us.

Great escape :)
This was an amazing place! We loved how close the water was! We utilized the kayaks on my birthday which turned out to be a beautiful day. The rest of the time was rain but we played more board games than we ever have which was great and a lot of fun :) loved not having cable on the tv so it actually felt like we were away from home!! Better than the pictures!
We had an incredible stay at Lake Cushman. It was a perfect blend of “middle of nowhere” and “middle of everything!” The property was spotless and so comfortable. Every little detail was thought out. We played board games and watched some of the many dvds. It was just my husband and we chose to use the first floor bedroom and full bath to avoid the steps even though the master is on the second floor. Good option for elderly or those with mobility challenges. We loved sitting on the back patio to watch the fog roll in and out. We were treated by a rainbow and the visiting deer. We ventured to the Quinault Rainforest which was a little under 2 hours drive and couldn’t recommend it enough! A beautiful 31 mile driving loop with several small nature trails and a historic lodge. What a perfect slice of heaven! Thank you for sharing your property. We are already talking about coming back in the next few months and even did a little research on buying a property ourselves because we loved it so much!!

Great way to social distance
We chose Lake Cushman to get back to nature and recharge, to find some smoke free air and stay socially distanced. This home was well appointed. We brought all our food (including our Hello Fresh meals) and the house had everything we needed to cook on the stovetop and in the oven. And the Keurig coffee maker was lovely! We travelled with our dog, who really wanted to get closer to the deer family that we saw every day. The bed was comfortable, the foosball table brought out the competitive side, and there were a variety of movie to watch. House wasn't too far from some nice trail heads (Mt Ellinor is no joke!) . We didn't go onto the lake, so we didn't take advantage of the kayaks, but next time! I've never visited this area, and this stay spurred me to take a look to see if anything was for sale nearby! :-)

At the foot of the Olympics
Beautiful spot near both Lake Cushman an Puget Sound. It is literally less than two miles to the southern entrance of Olympic National Park. A lovely place to get away and relax. Plenty of hiking, fresh air and scenic beauty. And about a half hour away, one of the best oyster and fish restaurants I’ve ever been to — in Hama Hama. Really love this place.

Excellent place
This home was exceedingly comfortable and clean. Our family felt so relaxed during our stay because this home and comfortable furniture, a great floor plan and the hosts seemed to have thought of everything. The park was just about a third of a mile away so this made swimming super easy. We will definitely come back!
