The property is in a great, convenient location. The decor is unique and very cool, and tbe attached bar/restaurant was an added bonus. The only negative was that there was no coffee available at 7:30 on a weekend morning and there's no where that's easily walkable to get any.

Hotel Derek is nice and quiet. Breakfast on the pricey side (e.g. $11 dollar for a bowl of cereal) but Everything is walking distance like the Galleria, Pharmacy, and good restaurants. My only complaint was that the shower head pressure was weak and the hallways have an old motel smell.

This hotel looks nice and used to be really nice. It is tired and is in desperate need of a revamp. The staff was great but the hotel is a best western with a nice lobby. Kinda sad, like I'd like to take a sad nap there.

I’ve read the negative reviews but I’d have to say people need to get a grip… this is a nice hotel going thru a ownership transition… everyone was still nice and friendly and it was clean.. yes it could use some updating and better bar hours but I’m sure the new owners will work on these things! Overall very convenient to great places nearby and enjoyed my stay!!

For a five star hotel it was extremely old, the bathroom door was practically falling off, it was extremely dusty and the decor was outdated and pieced together. The staff was very friendly and nice to chat with.

Hotel reminds me of a low end Vegas hotel. There was a big sticky spot on the carpet and I’ve bumped my calf on the bed frame some many times I could barely walk. Staff was great.
