DescriptionCastle Howard is a stately home in North Yorkshire, England, 15 miles north of York. It is a private residence, and has been the home of the Carlisle branch of the Howard family for more than 300 years.

Situated in the grounds of Castle Howard are Ray Woods.

There are lots of different paths and walkways to explore, it’s a great place for an autumn walk. This is a picture of a fallen horse chestnut ( or conker ) before it opens up.
