River front Cottage

"My husband and I wanted to take our grandkids camping, but the thought of us sleeping in a tent was not that appealing to us at our age. The kids ranged from 8-15. We decided to rent this ultra private home on the river. The view was absolutely amazing. The entire area was beautiful. The house was also beautiful inside. It has an open floor plan with the bathroom being the only room with a door. It was large enough and spread out enough that we had plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen was full of dishes, pots, pans, and everything we needed. We had forgotten ketchup, and there was even a new bottle of ketchup in a cupboard. It seems the owner had thought of everything! There was a large TV with a selection of videos. The home was very clean and comfortable. There was a canoe to use as well. My husband and grandkids really enjoyed fishing. We brought games to play, but found that there was a lot of games already there. I saw some games for younger kids, but we didn't really go through them so I can't say what other games there are for and older group. We had fires and overall a fantastic time together. There was a pizza shop and Dollar General 15 minutes away. We got pizza one of the nights and everyone loved it. No one wanted to leave. We've already reserved dates in October. I'm betting the fall foliage is stunning there. We are really looking forward to going back! Thank you, Rocco!!"

"We spent almost all of our time either on the sun porch or down in the creek! The house has everything you need. It is very homey feeling with all of the family photos and history. We really enjoyed our stay and being present in the moment."

"The young couple was very accommodating and friendly. They made sure we had what we needed for the night..it's a 200 year old building and a lot of history there. The only problems we had was bar/band noise that kept us up most of the night and I had an early triathlon to do and no breakfast provided. We went to McDonald's as soon as it was open.. I have to give them young couple kudos for trying to preserve history and renovate the hotel. A few minor inconveniences for us but we had a nice time visiting Lock Haven."

"Beautiful cabin furnished with all the conveniences of home! Tastefully furnished and very comfortable all around. We had outside temperatures that ranged from the mid 40's to the mid 80's during our stay and yet the cabin remained at a very comfortable 72 degrees 24/7. Just remember to approach the driveway from the south and exist in the same direction! Traffic on Rte 414 can be heavy during the vacation season and it's better to be safe than sorry. Thanks to the owners for sharing their lovely property. We intend to return if they'll have us of course."
