In winter the leaves are gone from the trees, revealing even more of our view of the Mt Washington Valley. We are near six ski resorts and hundreds of miles of maintained hiking, cross-country and downhill ski trails in the Mt. Washington Valley and White Mountain region. Check out the February chocolate festival, winter ice carving contests and dog sled races. Take an ice climbing lesson on a frozen waterfall, go on a full moon snowshoe hike with a naturalist guide to learn about owls and see moose tracks, and ride a tram to a mountaintop to see spectacular views.
Year-round tax-free outlet shopping is available at brand-name stores in North Conway, just a few miles south of the condo.
Our condo is near Route 16 where you will find community theatre, artisan shops, traditional farms, cultural events, a public library, a weather museum, and the towns of North Conway and Jackson village.
Take a drive across the Kancamagus Highway to see mountain vistas, the Swift River, roadside parks, and -- possibly -- a moose. Drive the famous 100-mile scenic route through quintessential New Hampshire villages, covered bridges and two mountain notches with gorgeous vistas of the White Mountains. Local maps and activity brochures are provided to help you plan your vacation. Bring your camera - stunning views are everywhere.
During warm months, take a three-minute stroll to our outdoor heated pool (the largest in the valley when it was built), forest trails and tennis courts (racquets available). Just a few miles across the valley are forest trails where you can watch rock climbers ascend the ledges. The condo is near to golf, a corn field maize, zip lines, train rides, water parks, and easy trails to waterfalls and vistas. Pick strawberries or ride a horse along West Side Road. It is easy to rent kayaks, hiking boots, and road or mountain bikes. Hundreds of miles of hiking trails are maintained in the White Mountains.
Plan ahead for a colorful autumn vacation. From late September to late October the mountains are dazzling with color. Drive around and see outdoor 'pumpkin people' displays in the towns of North Conway and Jackson. The hiking trails are beautiful with colorful leaves below and above.
There is plenty to do in the Mt. Washington Valley in every season!
Please note:
1) The wood stove cannot be used.
2) There is a ceiling fan in each bedroom and in the open dining/living room area to help move the mountain breezes. We do not have air conditioning.
3) No smoking, vaping, candles, fires, or flames of any kind in the condo or on the decks.
