We loved staying here - old establishment with so much history paired with modern, well kept rooms. If I could give the helpfulness of the staff 6 stars, I would. We felt warmly welcomed and cared for at every turn.

The room was well maintained, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the food down stairs quite good with a lovely bar area. People with disabilities should know it is a historic old building and did not have an elevator, but aside from that a perfect stay.

The room was clean, the check in is weird as it’s in the bar, which was fine if you know that’s where it is. All in all it was a good room and we had a good night. The bar is pretty nice too (it’s right below the room).

Great location and the restaurant food was great. Be advised that you have to bring bags up a few steps because there is no elevator. The owner was wonderful and gave us great recommendations for dining and entertainment.

The hotel itself is very old and the room reflects this. It is very small and cramped. The floor is sloped and there is very little sound proofing between the rooms. It is above the pub and you have steep stairs to climb without a lift. All of this would be fine except for the price does not reflect it. The breakfast was nice and the staff where friendly.

We have a very satisfactory stay at Black Friars. The room was neat and tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable, The bathroom was modern and gleaming. We tried the continental breakfast and eggs Benedict in the morning and it was delicious. The service was warm and welcoming. If you are looking for en evening of lively and entertaining Scottish music, you couldn’t do better than McGregor’s which is just down the block. We are happy to recommend Black Friars to anyone planning a stay in Inverness.
