A nice hotel that just needs a spruce up. Basic room that had ‘old lady perfume smell’ but clean. Friendly staff. Limited bar. Small but adequate breakfast buffet. Looks more like a retirement home than a hotel.

The Strathburn is a charming hotel. The staff were very courteous and helpful. We found it quite warm in the room likely because the days were warmer than we expected & there is no A/C. We were disappointed that there is no longer a restaurant for dinner in the evening. The staff was helped us to order pizza to be delivered to the hotel.

The Strathburn Hotel was the ideal venue for our surprise birthday gathering. The hotel is old style but comfortable, clean and warm with a quiet lounge area beside the reception where we sat and chatted. All the staff were both efficient and friendly - Nicki( booking), Charlie and a very helpful Polish lady. The food was good, though the menu fairly limited especially for gluten free choices. The chef had made fresh gluten free rolls one night - the best I've ever tasted and the Thai curry was fantastic. For other gluten free people The Garioch Fish Bar just along the road does lovely gluten free fish and chips too.
