Here's information re: concerns regarding this home and its management.This was where we stayed for a family reunion during August 2025. Regarding issues with the home itself, there are a few areas of shoddy construction--baseboards with simple nails that fall away from the wall (kitchen and living room were two notable examples); screens for doors and windows which easily break--which would be forgiven in an otherwise uneventful stay.Unfortunately the property owner did not prove to be trustworthy. If you book this property, know that he takes little accountability for issues with the home. For exam, when screens on the doors and windows broke, he charged us for them even though one window was unreachable by us (damaged by a windstorm) and the door screen was already damaged and partially detached from cats pushing their way into the home. His responses were defensive and recalcitrant, and this pattern of behavior persisted despite attempts to reach an understanding with him and even paying for the door screen as a show of good faith. This property doesn't book more than 6-7 weeks per year, perhaps that's why he nickel & dimes the way he does. I volunteered to him that one of our kids got sick on a pillow and offered to pay to replace it; he sent me a bill far in excess of what a comparable pillow would cost. Interacting with him detracted from our experience. I made the decision to get VRBO involved and stopped talking with him.
