“The place is really great. They have an extensive collection of antiques and art that is very unique and special. They have certain details that make the stay very special. The only thing is that when we searched for a place to stay we had selected pet friendly in the filters. Usually in expedia when you get charged online everything you must pay is included but when we got there we were informed our pet had to pay an extra $ 25.00. “This part of our journey through Guatemala was to stay at this hotel and relax, and we did just that. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, but be prepared to climb stairs and steep inclines but not to worry, they are very accommodating with the one golf cart they have for the guests. “The lovely Hotel Villa Santa Catarina is Guatemalan-owned. Beautiful two pools, great view of the lake, and a short tuk-tuk ride to Panajachel. The restaurant on site is fantastic for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Room was spacious - no A/C, but not a problem with the cool lake breeze at night.”
