The Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, has great events throughout the year. These include NASCAR and IndyCar, while also allowing folks to take part in Friday night drag racing on the main stretch (with their own cars). In 2014, the track will host the US Red Bull Air Race for the first time, in early September. Air racing is quite a spectacle!

The track offers various packages for each event so be sure to see what they offer. These can include pit access, where you can obtain great views of the race and the behind-the-scenes action. Food and drinks are sold by a lot of different vendors, but the track's own vendors are the most reasonably priced.

"Resort is beautiful… massive! Room was clean and comfortable … slept great! The restaurant Texan station was great and had a good selection and reasonably priced. Ol Hickory was phenomenal!!!! … didn’t experience the other restaurants since we only spent 2 nights. Room service fell flat … food took over an hour and it was barely warm and there was no microwave to reheat any of it … additionally the bacon was missing and when I inquired, they expected me to wait an additional 45 - 60+ min … won’t do that again!!! Nonetheless, I had to leave the facility to eat a hot breakfast!! Other than that I had an enjoyable time at the resort … will revisit if in the area. "

"Great hotel but just know there really is no hotel shuttle pickup from the airport. We wasted an hour and called the hotel 3 times to "hear the shuttle is on the way" the shuttle is at C and will pick you up at D next". Two of us watched as other hotel shuttles came twice - so we took uber. Front desk staff just said "shuttle to DFW is better" and it was. "
