"I was supposed to meet a family member here, but their flight was canceled and could no longer meet me here in Japan. I needed to cancel this reservation because of this disappointing turn of events. I messaged the hotel staff during the window of time necessary to cancel without late-cancellation fees, however the staff did not respond to me until after that window had passed, and would not budge on their policy of charging me for the entire stay. I was very unimpressed by their business ethics...

"The hotel is a bit old, but it's still pretty comfortable overall. If they slowly update the rooms and facilities, it would be much more attractive to guests. I'd suggest replacing the carpets with regular floors. That would make it much easier to roll luggage and feel cleaner."
